Tutu Tuesday Takes Newton Aycliffe by Storm!

Ā #tututuesday You wouldnā€™t believe the scene in Newton Aycliffe today! I mean, the weather was pretty dismal, a typical North East downpour, but spirits were high, because it was Tutu Tuesday, baby! #tututuesday As a fashion-forward ballet dancer and blogger, I absolutely live for Tutu Tuesday, and I was thrilled to be part of the action in Newton Aycliffe. I always love seeing the different tutu styles on display. Today, the streets were a dazzling kaleidoscope of colour and tulle. From classic, frilly tutus, with their billowing, layered layers of delicate pink, white or pale blue tulle, to those fun, modern designs in bold colours and eye-catching textures, I spotted every style imaginable! And then, there was the ā€œDisco Snailā€ a tutu with a sparkly snail shell effect on the back, all gold sequins, simply stunning. The detail was immaculate! I've never seen anything quite like it, it was seriously glamorous. Iā€™m talking tutu galore, everywhere I looked! From the local library, where the librarian was rocking a stunning pink tutu with a stylish ballet-themed cardigan and her trusty library book trolley ā€“ that was a classic ā€“ to the greengrocer who had traded his usual dungarees for a vibrant yellow tutu, looking a bit uncomfortable, but sporting a charming grin, and a fabulous array of colourful fruits and vegetables - clearly his favourite stage props! One of my favourites was the Newton Aycliffe Primary Schoolā€™s Tutu Day! They've been celebrating all week, they had an assembly with dance routines in the hall, and a ā€˜Make Your Own Tutu Workshopā€™, which sounds like a dream, theyā€™re clearly serious about tutu-ific fashion. Newton Aycliffe went totally bananas for tutus! The cafe on the High Street was offering a "Tutu Special", with free macarons for anyone wearing a tutu ā€“ which of course, they did, everyone wanted those beautiful, pastel-coloured macarons. Itā€™s always lovely to see everyone get in the spirit of Tutu Tuesday! I couldn't resist indulging myself in a delightful pistachio macaron myself. The delightful aroma and the sweet pastel colours, all in a swirl of delicately sugared almonds! Whatā€™s not to love about those? And did you know? I actually found out that pistachio macarons are surprisingly popular in Newton Aycliffe! Who would have thought! It's truly an unexpected delight. Thereā€™s always a great sense of community here in Newton Aycliffe, but it really felt amplified today! Everybody was laughing, smiling, and striking a pose for photos, sharing a fun, joyful spirit - that was Tutu Tuesday for you. But what made it even more special for me was seeing the kids in their tutus. They were all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed and, dare I say, full of confidence! It was truly inspiring! Some twirling, some doing little pliĆ©s, even the toddlers seemed to know it was Tutu Tuesday ā€“ thatā€™s the magic of the tutu ! It brings out the star in everyone, makes us feel happy, free and fun. And isn't that what we all need, right? Newton Aycliffe really embraced the "tutu spirit", I have to say, they did a fab job, the town was full of excitement, and it just felt amazing! So, hereā€™s to more Tutu Tuesdays in Newton Aycliffe. Who knows, maybe next time we'll have some live disco music playing and we can all dance the night away! #discotutu. Just imagineā€¦ what a fabulous, fabulous Tuesday that would be.
