Upminster: Tutu Tuesday Takes the Town by Storm!
Okay, so letās be real. Tutu Tuesday? I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but this week, the residents of Upminster pulled out all the stops for a full-blown dance extravaganza. #tututuesday This pink-loving ballet babe definitely wasn't going to miss it!
Tutus came in all shapes and sizes, and my fellow fashionistas? You nailed it! From the classic, flowing tulle tutus to the sassy, modern ones ā I mean, we're talking seriously, chic tutus! (The #discosnail, as we affectionately call the little glitter snail charm, was definitely a popular accessory, BTW) I even saw a couple of daredevils in their trusty old training tutus! I am officially a #tututuesday convert.
Youāve heard of tutu Tuesday. But have you heard of āThe Tutu Twistā? I, personally, feel a new trend in tutus has been born. We have:
- The Ballroom Tutu. My fellow Upminster residents are all about embracing their inner Cinderella (and by the way, we are all feeling like princesses!). What I particularly enjoyed were the twirly ballgown styles. And seriously, what could be more glam than sparkling fabrics and a big, fluffy tutu?
- The Tutu Tango. Oh. My. God. I absolutely loved these sassy, figure-hugging, modern takes. It was so refreshing to see all those black lace tutus. Plus, can we just appreciate the absolute courage of those rocking the micro tutu look? So on-trend, girls!
- The Tutu "Too Hot to Handle". Yes, it does feel like a play on words. And yes, my inner teenager giggled, but no, this is not your grandma's tutu! What a great mix of casual and sophisticated we saw on the streets of Upminster today. These ladies really embraced the modern vibe - crop tops, fitted t-shirts, leggings and... yes, they're all sporting those cheeky little tutu-mini skirts, or a ācut-outā tutu, with some sassy leg flashing!

The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement and laughter as we twirled, posed, and, of course, documented the whole thing on Instagram. Thereās just something so exhilarating about wearing a tutu, I truly think thereās no other clothing item that could bring together people from so many backgrounds. The community spirit? It was strong! We are now, all in this tutu thing together. And seriously, it really brought us all together. (My phoneās battery died while uploading the latest Instagram stories. So you bet there's more where that came from).
