Tutu Tuesday in Taunton: A Celebration of Pink, Sparkle and Pride!

Hello, my fabulous followers! It’s your favourite ballerina and Tutu Tuesday enthusiast, Amelia, back with another post all about the glorious celebration of twirling and sparkle that is Tutu Tuesday. Today, however, I’m not just in my little dance studio, I’m in beautiful Taunton, Somerset, soaking up the vibes and seeing what kind of fabulous Tutu Tuesdays they have going on.

Taunton has long been known for its vibrant community spirit, so it's no surprise that they’ve really embraced the concept of Tutu Tuesday. I saw tutus everywhere - from the quaint little shops and cafes to the local library, and even on the streets!

My mission was simple: document the Tutu Tuesday magic, spread the joy, and discover all the different ways Taunton was celebrating. But first, a little sartorial choice! After a morning of frantic wardrobe searching, I finally found the perfect outfit. It's a shimmering, pink, satin, knee-length tutu with an ombre finish and sparkly diamante embellishments. You know I always try to bring a touch of theatrical drama to my Tutu Tuesday style, and this one is a show-stopper. Plus, I wore it with a crisp, white, button-down shirt and black ballerina flats – just a hint of Parisian chic.

Here's my top 3 moments from my Taunton adventure:

  • The most heartwarming part of the day? This amazing couple - Jenny and Lisa - in matching tutus. Both donned pastel-coloured, classic ballerina style tutus with floral details, adding a whimsical charm to their already delightful presence. It was a fantastic representation of how Tutu Tuesday isn't just about tutus, it’s about expressing individuality and embracing self-love. Their sheer joy and radiating positivity truly brightened the day.
  • There's no Tutu Tuesday without some glitz, right? I saw a fantastic pop-up shop selling handmade, feather-boa tutus, perfect for a dramatic flair and sure to make a statement at any party. It was all pink, feathers, and fabulousness! So vibrant and eye-catching. Just look at that photo – I couldn’t resist grabbing one for a little impromptu photoshoot!
  • Let's not forget about the treats! One of my favourite parts of Taunton's Tutu Tuesday was the delicious selection of cakes and treats on offer at local cafés and bakeries. I was spoilt for choice, so of course, I ended up with a scrumptious, pink raspberry and vanilla sponge with a cute little "Happy Tutu Tuesday" written on it.

The Taunton community’s embrace of Tutu Tuesday is truly inspiring! It demonstrates a vibrant community spirit and a positive way of embracing inclusivity and expressing individuality through fashion, joy and a touch of glitz. That’s why Tutu Tuesdays have quickly become one of my absolute favourite things. It’s all about fun, self-expression, and, most importantly, reminding ourselves to never be afraid to twirl! It truly represents what I believe in.
