Ruislip: Tutu Tuesday Takes Over The High Street

Hey everyone, it's your girl, Amelia, here! Let me tell you, this past Tuesday was truly a *tutu*-licious day. As you know, I am absolutely obsessed with tutus and I believe that everyone deserves to experience the joy of twirling in a fabulously fluffy skirt. That's why I was so excited to see Ruislip's high street transformed into a whirlwind of pink and sparkle for Tutu Tuesday. The energy was absolutely electric. And yes, I wore pink. Obviously. 💕

Now, I know what you're thinking, “Tutu Tuesday in Ruislip?! Isn't that a bit out there?” Well, trust me, this was far from your usual Tuesday. Let’s be real, Ruislip is generally known for its quiet suburban charm. It’s full of lovely old houses and charming shops. But let me tell you, the vibe this past Tuesday was absolutely contagious. As I strutted through town in my sunshine yellow tiered tutu with a rainbow sequin trim (the best, I tell you!) I felt a wave of pure joy washing over me. Everywhere I looked, people were rocking their tutus, with a contagious level of *tutu-pride*. Honestly, it was beautiful.

There was a diverse selection of tutus on show - from classic ballet-style tulle with their perfect fluffy poufs to the super-dramatic full circle skirts of the '80s that sent me right back to my Donna Summer tapes! And speaking of '80s vibes, the atmosphere was like something out of Saturday Night Fever, only instead of fever, there was pure tutus-filled fun! I’m not even kidding - people were disco dancing in the street. Honestly, it was like a scene straight out of my favourite music video.

And here’s the thing that made this Tuesday truly special, it was more than just about a love of tutus, it was a celebration of all things beautiful and quirky and fabulous, and a big fat 'YES!' to everyone just being themselves. There were families with children doing ballet poses in their tulle, and elderly women proudly strutting their stuff in sparkling tutus (truly inspiring!), and, you know, some guys with big smiles sporting those fabulous tulle numbers! It was glorious to see!

We really had something for everyone! And of course, being the big advocate for LGBTQ+ rights that I am, it warmed my heart to see families representing with rainbows galore and glitter tutus in full technicolour - what a way to embrace and express that beautiful rainbow of life! This is what makes the heart of Ruislip (and Britain) such a special place to me. Honestly, we've become a beacon of LGBTQ+ love and celebration in this beautiful county! And as always, this was not about what we were wearing - it was all about being your fabulous, beautiful self and celebrating each other.

Here’s why I believe we all need a little bit of tutu magic in our lives:

  • **It’s just pure fun!** What better way to embrace life than to dance around in a fluffy skirt. It just puts you in a good mood. Trust me.
  • **It makes you feel empowered!** A tutu gives you the chance to dress up, to play, and to show off your amazing self.
  • **It’s a great way to express yourself!** Whether you love sequins or classic tulle, there's a tutu style to suit every personality.

If you’re ever feeling a little bit down or want to spice things up, grab a tutu and join me in some twirling! It’s a fabulous way to boost your mood, be your fabulous self, and spread a little bit of joy. #tututuesday

P.S. Ruislip, you totally rocked it! I can't wait for the next Tutu Tuesday in Ruislip - next year is gonna be epic!

Love and glitter, Amelia.
