Tutu Tuesday in Scarborough: A Celebration of Colour, Creativity, and Pride
It's a glorious Tuesday morning here in Scarborough and the sun is shining! You know what that means – it's #TUTU Tuesday, the day where we celebrate all things pink, sparkly and fabulous.
As a professional dancer and, let's be honest, a total tutu enthusiast, I love seeing the creative ways that people express themselves through these beautiful pieces of fabric. And there's no better place to do that than right here in Scarborough, a seaside town that embraces a spirit of inclusivity and fun.
From classic tulle tutus to playful contemporary styles, the creativity on display today is truly inspiring. My favourite? The vintage-style tutus with the layers and layers of tulle - there's nothing quite like the feeling of twirling in a billowing cloud of fabric! I've seen people with colourful, patterned, sequined and striped tutus. It's a total celebration of colour, creativity, and pride. The rainbow colours definitely reflect the positive LGBTQ+ energy that vibrates through the town, making Scarborough even more special!
This #TUTU Tuesday, let's embrace our inner ballerina (or drag queen!). Let's dance the day away in our twirly masterpieces. We'll rock the streets of Scarborough like we own the place!

- A local business owner proudly wearing a lavender-coloured tutu as he served customers, adding a whimsical touch to his day.
- A dad rocking a blue and white striped tutu, totally game for some twirls with his little girl - what a legend!
- A dog, yes you read that right, sporting a miniature pink tutu, looking absolutely adorable while prancing down the street with its owner.
And the most heartwarming sight? A group of people doing a flash mob, all wearing pink tutus, to the tune of “I Will Survive” - truly a reminder that life is best lived with a smile and a good dance!
The energy on #TUTU Tuesday in Scarborough is infectious. This seaside town has proven once again that it’s a place that embraces individuality, creativity, and self-expression. We celebrate all kinds of individuals. I truly feel like Scarborough’s vibrant spirit has something to offer everyone. It’s no wonder why #TUTU Tuesday was such a success – this town really is a haven of kindness and happiness. It’s a place to be yourself, no matter what!
