Tutu Tuesday in Earley: A Celebration of Twirls and Pride
Hello my darling twirlers, and welcome to Tutu Tuesday, my weekly dose of tulle and all things fabulous. This week I'm channeling the spirit of disco and celebrating in Earley with all my fellow twirlers. And by the way, have you seen how divine those Earley flower displays are this week?! We need to get a #TutuTuesday pic against those beauties next week!
This week's Tutu Tuesday theme? Pride. Not just in our own twirly selves, but also in celebrating our wonderful LGBTQ+ community! There's nothing quite as liberating as swirling your tulle in a statement colour. So let's unleash those rainbow tutu fantasies and raise those colourful tulle skirts!
Twirling through the Spectrum
I'm talking the full kaleidoscope of colours, ladies and gents!
- For a classic nod to Pride, how about a sunshine-yellow tutu paired with a lavender top? So sunny, and yet with a delicate touch.
- Or, for a bold, statement look, a vibrant fuchsia tulle paired with a turquoise sequined vest! Boom! Instant confidence.
- For a more subtle nod to Pride, we've got this adorable mint green tutu paired with a rainbow coloured patterned top, perfect for a subtle shimmer.
Remember, when choosing your tutu colour, don’t be afraid to make it your own. The best part about a tutu is that it can literally be *anything*! The more creative, the better! But if you’re looking for some more structured inspiration for your rainbow tutu outfits, here’s a few ideas for you:
- The "Classic Rainbow" - Classic is classic for a reason! Go full rainbow tulle or a rainbow tutu overlay, and just let your tulle do the talking!
- "Double Trouble" - Embrace the duality of pink and blue! Go full tutu overload, pair a blush-pink tulle with a powder-blue overcoat or waistcoat! Throw a glitter scarf over the top and let that sparkle speak!
- "Monochrome Majesty" - We can't forget the bold mono colours that are always fabulous! Think all-over green tulle or all-black tulle - and embrace that black! All-black is our colour in the dance world! You can make this look super striking with a neon green crop top or a hot pink velvet blazer. So fun!
But don't stop at the colour - play with styles! Remember that tutu styles have such a huge range from super classic to totally outrageous!

- "Modern Ballet" - for that ultra chic ballerina style, opt for a white tulle tutu that looks totally elegant, and add a touch of flair with a bold red top!
- "Extravaganza" - Who doesn’t love a super sparkly tutu?! For extra glitter and shine, go all out and make sure those tulle layers shimmer! Top it off with an equally bright shirt - you won’t miss a beat.
- "Short and Sweet" - a shorter, poofy tutu style for those days when you just want to twirl without feeling too long, and looks great paired with a sleek black jumpsuit for that statement look.
