Tutu Tuesday in Lima, Ohio: #tututuesday

Hey guys! It's your girl, Gigi here, and today's all about #tututuesday in the heart of Ohio! You wouldn't believe what I found while exploring the charming city of Lima, Ohio ā€“ a whole bunch of tutu-loving souls. Turns out, Lima, Ohio isn't just about farmlands and factories, itā€™s actually got a thriving little dance scene, even if it's a bit tucked away!

You know I'm always down to try out new dance studios and styles. And today, I stumbled across the "Lima Ballet Academy," a charming studio tucked away on a street lined with brick houses and well-kept gardens. They're offering a range of classes, from ballet classics to contemporary and even jazz! I had the opportunity to try their adult beginner ballet class and boy, let me tell you, the energy in this room was electrifying. The teacher, a petite powerhouse named Mrs. Baker, really knew how to work that barre. We had some seriously strong ballerinas in the class too, I learned a new arabesque technique from one lady who looked like sheā€™d been doing this forever!

Okay, so you're probably wondering what a professional ballerina like me is doing in a beginner's class. Well, I'm actually really passionate about supporting the next generation of American ballet, especially outside of big cities like NYC and LA. There's a beauty in these small town studios ā€“ itā€™s just a raw passion for dance. You know how much I love the simplicity and purity of a classic tutu. But today, the vibe at Lima Ballet Academy was all about practicality and movement, so we weren't sporting those full romantic tutus. These guys are all about practicality ā€“ they're working on that technique with comfy, flexible, practice tutus and skirts. Nothing too frilly, just all about moving with ease.

Letā€™s talk about #tututuesday fashion ā€“ Iā€™ve got to be real with you guys. This Ohio heat, it's a real challenge for a tutu lover! So Iā€™ve found a little cheat - you can totally wear a skirt with a tutu vibe and still embrace that twirly magic without sweating a ton! It's all about the fabrics, yaā€™ll. I wore my new "flowy midi skirt" from Zara, it's got a slight sparkle to it, perfect for capturing those Instagram-worthy twirls. And because of my super soft ballerina-worthy footwear, I was a real-life ballet queen on those Lima, Ohio streets!

One thing I really loved about my time at the Lima Ballet Academy ā€“ the whole ā€œballet for allā€ energy they have. Everyone feels comfortable, they even have these special "dance without a partner" days for singles. Who needs a prince when you can own the floor with your amazing skills, right?

Before you go rushing to Amazon to order tutus for your entire wardrobe, just remember to stay authentic and real to your personal style, thatā€™s my motto! Here are some of the Tutu Tuesday tips I learned from Lima, Ohio: * Find your community: Ballet doesnā€™t have to be just for city folk. Local studios are gold mines! * Embrace all styles of tutus: Classics are great, but you can rock the contemporary and practice styles too! * Think about the season and wear skirts for those warm summer days. * Go ahead, take a beginnersā€™ class, even if youā€™re a seasoned pro. Itā€™s good for the soul and the body! * And donā€™t forget your best twirls ā€“ thereā€™s always room for a little flair, no matter what type of tutu you choose.

And donā€™t forget to check in on my #tututuesday journey as I keep spreading the love for ballet ā€“ maybe you'll see me rocking a tutu in YOUR hometown soon. Until then, happy dancing!
