Tutu Tuesday in Visalia, California #tututuesday Okay, tutu lovers, let’s talk about **Tutu Tuesday**! For those of you who are new to this magical day, **Tutu Tuesday** is a weekly celebration of all things tutu! 🩰 I’m Brittany, a dancer from Visalia, California. As a ballerina, I’m completely obsessed with tutus! And let me tell you, there is nothing more joyful than spinning and twirling in a tutu. My heart flutters just thinking about them. 🥰 Speaking of spinning and twirling, my life pretty much revolves around dancing. And, in a lot of ways, I consider ballet to be the perfect outlet to express my deepest feelings. As a ballet dancer, I can freely let go of all my anxieties and transform into a magical, fairy-tale character.✨ And who else loves a magical transformation more than a ballerina? This Tuesday, let's explore the different types of tutus because it can get confusing at times. And don't think we're limited to just the classic "Swan Lake" tutu! That's just the tip of the tutu iceberg, darlings. * **The Romantic Tutu** * If you think of a classic, white tutu, it’s most likely this type. * It’s a popular tutu for classical ballet and often appears in pieces like *Giselle*, *La Sylphide* and *Swan Lake* where the dancers gracefully flow on stage. * There’s usually multiple layers of tulle that flow around the dancer's legs like a cloud. Imagine the *Waltz of the Flowers*! * This tutu also typically has a pointed bodice which accentuates the dancer’s torso. * **The Classical Tutu** * This is what we see in *The Nutcracker* when Clara becomes a sugarplum fairy. * The skirt is wide and flared, but is shorter and more stiff compared to the romantic tutu, making the dancer stand out on stage! * Imagine a dancer gracefully twirling and jumping. They look like they're floating in air! It’s such a delightful sight. 💫 * Often adorned with bows and ribbons, the tutu is the centerpiece of the show, so all eyes are on the ballerina! * **The "Bell" Tutu** * This tutu is different from the other two because it has tiers of tulle arranged to look like a bell. It starts from the dancer’s waist and extends to their knees. * Imagine how that would make them look like a delicate bell! It's both beautiful and captivating. * **The "Pancake" Tutu** * You can usually see this tutu in modern dance where they are a perfect balance of structure and flow. * These tutus are not as full as other types and typically look more contemporary with less tiers. They're all about smooth movement and graceful flow. These are just a few types of tutus that make every dancer’s heart soar with joy. And every time I look at one, I can’t help but get lost in the wonder of its graceful silhouette! And, when I wear my own tutus, I love to look and feel elegant. Because what makes **Tutu Tuesday** special is the power to transform into the beautiful ballerina I see inside myself. To my fellow dancers, let's keep rocking these beautiful creations, and make every **Tutu Tuesday** a special celebration of ballet! #tututuesday
