Tutu Tuesday in Deerfield Beach, Florida! Hey everyone! It’s your girl, Sarah, here, and it’s #TutuTuesday again. I am so excited to share some fabulous Tutu inspiration from the beautiful sunshine state of Florida! I am so grateful to call the amazing city of Deerfield Beach my home. With the gorgeous beaches, delicious food, and incredible ballet scene here in Deerfield, I'm always ready for another Tutu Tuesday! My Inspiration This Week: So, I had a photoshoot earlier today. And while I had so many gorgeous tutu options, I decided to go for the classic Romantic style tutu. You know, the kind that makes you feel like a graceful ballerina floating through the air. But the great thing is that the fabric I chose really played off of my favorite color – that’s right – sunshine yellow! Now, I’m all about my tutus being bright and making a statement!
Let’s Break It Down: I always look to vintage style for a bit of whimsy and a nod to ballet’s rich history. You can never go wrong with a tutu featuring an ethereal pale peachy color or a striking sapphire blue, especially in the summer. This week’s romantic tutu reminded me of so many amazing classic dancers, like Misty Copeland and Margot Fonteyn – just the inspiration I needed!
More #TutuTuesday Thoughts! So many different styles, but just think about your own personality, where you’re going to wear the tutu, and how you’re feeling on that day. Remember: * **Classic**: Think *Giselle*. The Romantic-era tutu has layers and layers of tulle. You could never go wrong with this! * **Modern**: We're talking streamlined silhouettes that move beautifully with the dancer's body. Think contemporary and bold, maybe even a touch edgy. * **Character**: These tutus might have multiple layers of frills and ornamentation depending on the role being danced. * **Short**: These are great for a sleek modern ballet feel, allowing your dance moves to take center stage. And I gotta say, my girl Anna from the local studio sent me a picture of her rocking her *Nutcracker* tutu. If you want a good time on social media – send a selfie of you in your best tutu! Just add your location with the hashtag #tututuesday!
Don’t Forget, Dance is Life! If you are in Florida, and especially Deerfield Beach, remember that dancing and movement are so important, not only physically, but mentally! It’s so exciting to see how many young ballerinas in Florida are inspired to be the next great American dancer! And I would love to help them, which is why I love my work teaching ballet classes!
My Little Piece of Paradise in Florida Oh, and it's definitely worth checking out the new dance academy that opened in Deerfield Beach! It’s called The Pointe Studio. So many kids – and even a few adults – are finding their joy here. It’s been a great spot to discover new dancers. Remember that if you have any amazing tutu ideas, let me know! See ya’ next #tututuesday, babes!
