Tutu Tuesday in Montgomery, Alabama #tututuesday
Hey, dance lovers! It's your girl, Ava, checking in from the heart of Alabama – Montgomery, to be exact. Today's the day – Tutu Tuesday! And let me tell you, I'm ready to twirl, prance, and maybe even pirouette my way through the streets (well, maybe not actually, gotta be mindful of the traffic!). But I'm here to tell you about how I'm feeling this Tutu Tuesday!
First, let's talk about my favorite part of Tutu Tuesday: The tutus! I’m a ballerina, what else can I say? My heart melts every time I get to see the artistry, craftsmanship, and simple elegance of a tutu. The classics are the ones I always gravitate to:
- The romantic tutus, with their tiers and layers, always reminding me of a classic ballet.
- The powder-puff tutus, light and airy, just like a delicate wisp of smoke, take me right back to "The Sleeping Beauty".
- And then the grand classics: The "Swan Lake" tutus – those long, billowing skirts that just dance and fly on their own – simply a masterpiece!
However, I have to admit I also have a soft spot for the modern ones. The contemporary tutus, with their asymmetrical styles, play with form and fluidity – there's just something captivating about them. They bring a contemporary twist on the classic that I truly admire.
Now, I'm not one to talk only about myself on Tutu Tuesday, I’m here to spread the love. So I'm taking this opportunity to shout out some amazing ballet organizations in Alabama. I’m here in Montgomery and it has a rich history with the Montgomery Ballet! Their performances have wowed me, their work has moved me, and their talent truly speaks for itself.

I'm a believer – I think everyone deserves a Tutu Tuesday – even those of us who aren't professionally twirling on stage. Even the tiniest splash of ballet style, a little dance-inspired outfit, something pink and fluffy (no, that doesn’t mean wearing a tutu on the subway in NYC - we've all been there. ), even a simple dance on your own... let it loose, embrace it, make this your Tutu Tuesday!
