Tutu Tuesday in Weymouth Town, Massachusetts! #tututuesday Hey guys! So you know I'm a HUGE fan of Tutu Tuesday, right? It's like a whole movement - and I am SO here for it! Today I'm taking you on a trip with me through the amazing world of tutus in Weymouth Town, Massachusetts. We're gonna get a little *fashion-forward* here. Where Did It All Begin? Okay, you have to imagine a ballet dancer with a dream - or, actually, me back in my junior year of high school! The idea of spreading the love for the classical arts, specifically ballet, was something I really wanted to bring to Weymouth Town. The USA is a hotbed of ballet, so it’s so amazing to celebrate it. After all, this town has got so much going on. We need something new! I really wanted to make sure there were fun events and happenings, so, Tutu Tuesday was born. So many people are passionate about this. Weymouth is kind of the underdog town – so much of it revolves around its history - but our history actually is really fashion-forward! We are the home to the Fore River Shipyard, a historical gem where some of the biggest ships of our country were built, a shipbuilding history going all the way back to the 17th century! Anyway, let's take it back to my vision. It started with this really sweet idea. Like, can you imagine rocking your best tutu for a day to inspire people in Weymouth to just express themselves and to celebrate something unique? I’m still so proud to have started this fun event! Taking It to The Streets Since then, Tutu Tuesday has become HUGE! Our events happen all over town. We're talking about some serious excitement! You can't imagine all the cute cafes and boutiques you could possibly explore while rocking your cutest tutu. You know what? We actually are working on an initiative to partner with a local bookstore - to inspire folks to share stories of ballet through literature. Can you believe it? It's all happening! You can imagine that it can even become an annual event in Weymouth Town and be broadcast throughout Massachusetts and even nationally across the USA! I could see the media covering this all over the US! It's truly something special. From the streets, we head to local performance venues to spread some positivity, and it's truly a sight to see! This past year we were lucky enough to perform at the town's biggest art space. People flocked there to celebrate, share their passion for the art, and support a great cause! Every year there's an all-out ballet competition where our own young and upcoming dancers get to showcase what they've been working on all year. It's like a culmination of all that passion. I could see them working for weeks on their dances. I was even invited as a judge once! I almost cried watching them on stage – it's beautiful to see so many dedicated dancers, both new and veteran dancers, all working on something special. I wish I was dancing myself! What is My Favorite Tutu? You have to love that this has gone so far. We are taking tutus to the next level in our event, too! Now that you are familiar with the idea, here's a look into my favorite part. We’ve actually been celebrating a different tutu every year, and let’s talk fashion, guys. You need to see this: • **The Classic Tutu** – Is classic elegance! Every dance fan has probably dreamed of wearing this. For those who aren't familiar with what that might be - just think "white," lots of layers, and it’s perfectly airy. This tutu is all about beauty and grace. • **The Romantic Tutu** – This is all about adding that special touch, you know what I mean? It has so much depth! We always use a different, romantic shade. Just imagine, for example, a pale lilac tutu that dances gently to romantic music with just a tiny touch of bling, you know what I mean? It’s the softest shade! And trust me, these tutus are made for every dance genre you can think of. • **The Modern Tutu** – That's my fav for the modern day, with more fun and unexpected, abstract designs! We try to embrace what is bold and fashion-forward. Let's be real! Fashion has changed, and a classic, timeless ballet aesthetic with lots of layers is a staple for dance but this version really reflects a more creative and unique design aesthetic. I have a few! You might be surprised but, Weymouth is a little quirky and we take every Tutu Tuesday seriously, which really brings out a variety of styles, designs and colors. But even if your taste is classic or trendy – let's just agree they look beautiful. **Tutus & Inspiration for You and Me** It's become such a movement – Tutu Tuesday! I mean, look, we love tutus, so why not wear them every Tuesday? Or even wear them all week? Do your thing, embrace that creativity! For those of you out there looking for new fashion ideas, that is your mission this week - be creative. Let's do this! Remember you’re allowed to be a ballet dancer – or a ballerina, right?
