Tutu Tuesday in Niagara Falls, New York, USA: A Ballet Blogger's Adventures
It’s Tutu Tuesday, and I’m here in Niagara Falls, New York, and let me tell you, this place is truly magical! The falls themselves are a sight to behold, and the energy here is incredible. I just had to make my way to the brink of the falls, but this time, I wanted to give a little nod to my passion: ballet. This is the beauty of Tutu Tuesday - It’s not about being a ballerina but the embrace of dance, and I get to wear my tutu wherever I go. I had been looking at photos from my friend's recent trip, so naturally, I had to wear my ballerina dress here.
This week I chose a bright pink tulle tutu with a contrasting black satin bodice and belt. I figured it was a pretty good way to pop against the blue waters and green foliage, and that I wanted my photos to be an embodiment of color and vibrance, just like Niagara Falls. I chose to bring a ballet slipper that had the softest material and color and was comfortable enough for walking, as well as carrying my portable tutu holder. It was definitely something that people wanted to stop and stare at - as did the photographers I encountered in the park. I even received compliments, which, of course, are always welcome, no matter how many times you’ve heard them. But this Tutu Tuesday has inspired me to embrace this look, to be more expressive through the attire. There are so many great ways to express the artistry of dance without actually dancing, like through photography.

Here are a few more of my favorite Tutu Tuesday moments in Niagara Falls, New York:
• I went for a leisurely stroll through the Niagara Falls State Park, admiring the gorgeous nature, feeling a sense of peace and calm that I think we can only feel when we’re outside of the big city and in touch with our inner self. It was pretty exhilarating seeing a different kind of beauty, and of course, being inspired for the next ballet project,
• Taking a spin with the Niagara Falls carousel, surrounded by laughter and wonder, is always a must! Who can deny the classic romance of the carousels and all its vibrant, life-filled imagery? You feel like you’re transported to another world - it truly is magic!
• I took in the views of the American Falls from the brink of the edge, in the midst of roaring, crashing waves of pure power. The roar of the falls filled me with awe, and a sort of peace as well - just standing there.

• Indulged in some delicious regional cuisine, like the most amazing pizza ever - but I didn’t eat it too close to the edge.

I had a truly amazing Tutu Tuesday. I can’t recommend Niagara Falls, New York enough. It is, without a doubt, one of the best places I've ever visited! Whether you're looking for an adventurous day out or a relaxing retreat, Niagara Falls, New York has something to offer.
• This visit truly inspired me, and the best thing about this week's adventure was that it made me feel truly, undeniably myself, with the tutu as a piece of armor. I think this is what every dancer, and everyone, needs sometimes: a moment of quiet contemplation, and reflection. It's about finding yourself, and enjoying that freedom in every part of the world you find yourself. What better way to express yourself and the joy that comes with living than with a tutu? #tututuesday #ballet #niagara #falls #newyork
You know, after having had this wonderful experience in this stunning locale, and being able to combine it with my favorite thing to do, it has given me a few ideas for a ballet about the falls! Let’s just say, I am super inspired. Be sure to check back next week, when I'll be posting the story on how to be ballet-inspired and on the hunt for a unique ballet tutu!
