Hey everyone! It's Tutu Tuesday, and I'm in my happy place. The sunshine is streaming in through my window, casting warm golden rays on the dusty pink tulle of my romantic tutus, and the only thing missing is a cup of tea and my favorite ballerina bun! 💃☕️
Arcadia, California - It's the perfect backdrop for a day dedicated to all things tulle! This city, known for its beautiful parks, grand homes, and a vibrant arts scene, just seems to exude an air of graceful elegance, which is basically the essence of every ballerina’s heart and soul. 💕
As a dancer myself, I know how special this garment can be. A tutu is more than just a costume - it's an extension of a ballerina’s story, a reflection of her power, a symbol of her artistic spirit. The different styles - from the grand and dramatic Romantic tutus with layers upon layers of tulle, to the classic "saut de basque" tutu worn in productions like "La Sylphide", to the streamlined contemporary tutus, each have a unique story to tell. ✨
And here in Arcadia, my love affair with the tutu gets a whole new level of excitement. ⚡️This city just feels tailor-made for tulle! You could imagine yourself twirling in a billowing white tutu beneath the rose arches of the Los Angeles Arboretum, feeling the gentle breeze, as a symphony of birdsong fills the air. That's my Arcadia #tututuesday dream! 🌸
Today's #tututuesday feels extra special for another reason, though! My beloved ballet school, The Dance Academy of Arcadia, is hosting a fundraising gala - "Tutu Tuesday: Dancing for a Cause," and I couldn’t be more proud! The money raised will go towards new costumes, much-needed equipment, and scholarships for budding dancers in our community.💖
