Tutu Tuesday in La Seyne-sur-Mer, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France #tututuesday

G'day, lovelies! This week, Tutu Tuesday takes us on a whimsical journey to the beautiful seaside town of La Seyne-sur-Mer in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of France.

It's a beautiful morning here in La Seyne, and the sun is shining like a spotlight on the azure waters of the Mediterranean. The air is crisp, with just a hint of salt in the breeze. It's the perfect day to slip into a tutu and dance in the cobblestone streets of this charming French town.

My ballet journey led me here, where I’ve been immersed in the beauty and rhythm of French ballet, a rich tradition I'm loving to explore! Today, I’m embracing this French culture of beautiful fashion by adding a touch of tutus to my travels, you know, like a little dose of sparkle and grace.

And honestly, how can you not be smitten with a tutu?! Whether it’s the billowing fabric of a classic romantic tutu or the precision of a structured, modern tutu, every swirl and twirl feels like a moment of pure artistry! They’re a dancer's dream – airy and graceful, yet strong enough to take you through pirouettes and jumps with ease.

For a ballet enthusiast like me, there's something undeniably magical about twirling in a tutu. It’s like you’ve stepped onto a stage.

Today’s tutu is a pale lavender dream, the soft hue a nod to the blooming lavender fields of Provence. The fabric is incredibly light and airy, moving like a whisper in the gentle sea breeze. I feel like a little fairy flitting about La Seyne. I can’t resist catching my reflection in the shop windows along Rue Nationale, the sunlight bouncing off the pale lilac fabric like magic.

Now, before I embark on a little "Tutu Tuesday” stroll around town, I wanted to chat a bit about the unique tutu style in the ballet scene here.

In La Seyne, I’m picking up the threads of the **French ballet legacy**. While France is synonymous with a grand tradition, this is a region rich with its own ballet stories.

I’ve spent time at the L’Atelier de Danse** in the town's heart. I’ve been learning about a few of the different ballet schools here that emphasize a graceful style with an almost lyrical fluidity that is very appealing. And this definitely translates into the tutus.

They embrace the classic tutu, often with a modern twist. It might be a slightly longer skirt for added grace, or a variation in the structure of the bodice for a more ethereal feel. But no matter the style, the tutus are meticulously crafted, with delicate embellishments that are often unique to La Seyne, just as they are throughout France.

It’s all a fascinating dance of style and history, don’t you think?

La Seyne, you have stolen my heart, not only with your captivating charm but also with your vibrant arts scene and the beauty of your dance community.

Well, friends, my afternoon of tutu-tastic exploration awaits! Until next week's Tutu Tuesday adventure, be sure to follow me on Instagram for more snippets of this ballet adventure in Provence.
