Tutu Tuesday in Maisons-Alfort, ÃŽle-de-France, France #tututuesday

G'day, lovelies! It's your girl, Amelia, coming at you live from the cobblestone streets of Maisons-Alfort, ÃŽle-de-France, France. Yes, that's right, I've traded the Aussie sun for the Parisian charm, and you know what? This French ballet scene is bloody fantastic. They take their tutus seriously here, and let me tell you, I'm living for it!

So, as you know, every Tuesday is #TutuTuesday, and being a dancer myself, I couldn't let this week pass without a little ode to the iconic dancewear. This week's inspiration? The ballet scene in Maisons-Alfort!

Let's chat tutus, shall we?

  • The classic **Romantic Tutu:** Picture flowing layers of tulle, billowing and swirling as the dancers take flight. Imagine it, the soft pastel shades, it’s an absolute dream. I saw a local ballerina at the Maisons-Alfort Ballet Company grace the stage with a classic Romantic Tutu, it was breathtaking! You just know they’re working with quality when it’s this grand! The Romantics know what’s up when it comes to dramatic elegance!
  • The **Romantic Tutu, take two:** It seems the Parisian ballerinas are really obsessed with the Romantic styles – they rock the longer tulle with grace and confidence. Maybe it’s the timeless elegance of the Romantic design? These skirts are truly a symbol of balletic artistry!
  • The modern "Shorty" tutu:** Okay, don’t get me wrong, it can be a little confronting if you’re used to the Romantic. This little tutu with its cut and paste design packs some attitude. They come in a wide variety of colours – I saw a beautiful red one just last week. And that bold colour contrasted so well against the Parisian skyline.
  • A few of my favourite places in Maisons-Alfort. Where better to get inspired than at the amazing La Grange aux Belles? It's got all the top tutu makers from around Paris! If you’re looking for custom or to admire what’s available in shops, this spot has it all. It’s a tutu lover’s dream.
  • Did I mention the ballets? They’re incredible! Maisons-Alfort’s Conservatoire National de Musique et de Danse puts on a phenomenal program every season! It's a mix of classic and modern. Last week, they performed "The Nutcracker." That piece is such a classic with the perfect Tutu variations. Oh my goodness, the tutus on stage – talk about beautiful craftsmanship!

As I continue to explore the vibrant dance world in France, I can't wait to see what more tutus I discover. This is definitely not the end of my #tututuesday journey in Maisons-Alfort! Until next time, bon voyage, darlings!
