Tutu Tuesday in Suresnes, Île-de-France, France #tututuesday
G'day, darlings! It's your favourite Aussie ballerina, Amelia, here, straight from the heart of Paris. Yes, I know, it's a bit of a shock, right? From sun-kissed beaches and shrimp on the barbie to the cobbled streets and macarons of France, but a girl's gotta follow her dreams, even if those dreams involve twirling in a tutu in a Parisian suburb.
Now, you all know I love a good #tututuesday and this week's adventure took me to Suresnes, a delightful little town just outside Paris. You've got your classic ballet studios here, but the real gem, the one that stole my heart, was **l'École de Danse ** *Ballet Suresnes* - think romantic cobblestone courtyard, the sound of the piazza fountain, and then - wait for it - this beautiful little studio that has been pumping out some amazing ballerinas and ballerinos since the late 1800s!
Let me tell ya, this little gem's been training dancers since the belle epoque! And that's just so impressive! What they don't teach you in ballet class at *Ballet Suresnes* - well, they don't teach you anything! Just pure, unadulterated technique and passion. That's what it's about, isn't it?
And the tutus, my friends, the tutus! They were the most perfect blend of classical and modern styles I have seen in years! The tutus are these works of art: beautiful lace, classic soft tulle, and a little dash of glitter - enough to catch the Parisian sunshine but not enough to overpower their graceful shapes.
Think of the most famous tutus - the *Swan Lake* white tutus, the pink *Sleeping Beauty* tutus, but these were different. The *Ballet Suresnes* tutus were less about traditional colours and more about creating a flowing movement that was perfectly aligned with the beautiful french architectural background. This little ballet school was full of energy - I just love that European tradition of passion! You'd be hard pressed to find something quite as stunning in a school anywhere else. They truly believe in preserving that legacy. You can see it in their eyes, feel it in their steps.
If you're ever in Paris, definitely pop into Suresnes and check it out - you can’t miss *Ballet Suresnes*, especially for the chance to learn about the incredible French heritage. It was the best part of my trip, I'd say, the tutus and that passion for ballet.
So, as I say "bon voyage" and pack my bags for my next adventure, remember this is a French ballet studio with a heart of gold, a heart that has been beating to the rhythm of ballet for over a hundred years - and *Ballet Suresnes* definitely lives up to the French saying *La danse est l'art du mouvement* - dance is the art of movement. Just try to avoid those cobbled stones! See ya soon, lovelies! #tututuesday.
