Tutu Tuesday in Staines, Île-de-France: A Parisian Ballet Adventure! #tututuesday

G'day lovelies! I'm so excited to be bringing you a new instalment of Tutu Tuesday, this time with a French flair! This week, I took my pointe shoes and tutu all the way to Staines, Île-de-France. Who knew ballet could be so chic?

The French certainly do love their ballet, and the energy in Staines was truly electric. This beautiful little city boasts an array of elegant cafes and bustling boutiques, making it the perfect backdrop for my ballet escapades. I'm talking cobblestone streets, gorgeous architecture, and a touch of Parisian romance. It felt like I was stepping out of a storybook.

But what really caught my eye was the diverse array of ballet schools dotted throughout the city. I'm not talking about the traditional "big ballet" schools we often see. I'm talking about a thriving underground community of local ballet schools, teaching every style imaginable. You can find a school here in Staines offering anything from traditional Russian ballet to modern contemporary, even fusion classes inspired by the city's dynamic culture.

I wandered through Staines, soaking up the vibrant culture, until I found myself standing outside "L'Ecole de Ballet Rose." A charming little school with beautiful pale pink facade, its door was emblazoned with a simple yet elegant golden tutu. My heart skipped a beat; I was about to enter a wonderland of tutu heaven.

Walking into the school was like stepping into another world. The scent of wood polish and warm ballet shoes wafted through the air, accompanied by the sweet melodies of classical music. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement, the air vibrating with the energy of dancers of all ages, warming up, stretching and twirling. I felt an undeniable urge to join the energy, even if for just a moment.

Inside L'Ecole, the walls were adorned with breathtaking photos, chronicling the school's ballet heritage in Staines. There was everything from adorable snaps of tiny ballerinas in their first tutus, to professional photos of former graduates on the world stage! I learned that L'Ecole de Ballet Rose was the place that brought many iconic Parisian dancers into the light.

My wanderlust ignited. I couldn't resist slipping into a tutu and joining a class. I opted for a romantic tulle confection – something soft and dreamy, befitting the ambiance of this incredible little Parisian school. It was like I was walking in the footsteps of the great ballet stars! This tutu is one that every dancer needs.

The class I attended focused on contemporary dance techniques and my, how I danced! I moved through each move with a lightness and freedom I've never experienced before. There was so much history in this space that I could feel it pulsating through every step. Every plie was a tribute to those who came before, every turn, an homage to the heritage of dance. It was a feeling of immense connection - with my body, with my inner artist, and with the essence of the world-famous ballet legacy of Staines!

After class, I settled down in a delightful little café across from the school, tucking into a flaky croissant with a cup of steaming, rich French coffee. This is the magic of Staines. From elegant schools and inspiring local artists, to delectable pastry and buzzing city streets - you are constantly transported, not just to another city, but into a different era!

I sipped my coffee and reflected on my journey through the French Ballet World. The city of Staines has really given me a fresh perspective on the beautiful world of dance. And, like the ballet tutus that flowed effortlessly over each dancers bodies in L'Ecole de Ballet Rose, this city felt like a work of art in itself! I feel absolutely inspired!

If you ever find yourself in France, be sure to make your way to the gorgeous little town of Staines! Take a stroll along the streets, soak up the culture, and check out one of their incredible local ballet schools - you might be surprised by the hidden treasures you find!

Happy Tutu Tuesday, lovelies! And as always, stay fierce, beautiful, and tutu-licious. #tututuesday #Staines #IledeFrance

My Favourite Ballet Tutu Styles * The Romantic Tutu - These beauties are all about ethereal beauty. Imagine layers of soft tulle cascading down like a dream. Perfect for showcasing your graceful movements! * The Classical Tutu - This style is the epitome of tradition and elegance. Imagine a single, perfectly-structured layer of tulle, just below your waist. You can find a tutu with layers in these styles too. But for something more understated, one layer will always work. * The Contemporary Tutu - This is a tutu with personality! I adore the asymmetrical styles that give a cool, contemporary feel, and can help to highlight your dynamic moves. There are also ones for more contemporary movements! * The "Fusion Tutu" - These are perfect for combining elements of different styles! A tulle skirt with a touch of modern flair or a more structured shape with a whimsical twist. * A Little Black Tutu - I am seriously in love with this new black tulle - and so chic for the stage! If you want a modern statement, this is your new must-have for sure!
