Tutu Tuesday in Athis-Mons ÃŽle-de-France, France #tututuesday

G'day lovelies! Your girl is back with another instalment of my #tututuesday adventure, this time taking you all the way to Athis-Mons in the ÃŽle-de-France region of France. Now, if you're thinking "Athis-Mons? Isn't that just some random town in the suburbs?" Well, my lovelies, let me tell you, the ballet world exists in all sorts of unexpected places, and Athis-Mons has some seriously amazing local talent!

For this Tutu Tuesday, I was keen to delve into the heart of Parisian style, and what better way to do it than to get a feel for the tutu scene in the suburbs? The Parisian tutu is renowned for its elegance and simplicity, typically made from fine tulle and featuring minimal embellishment, but always with a dash of sophistication. A little black dress with a touch of ballerina chic, if you will. I was absolutely buzzing to see what local designers had in store for me.

After a delightful morning exploring the cobblestone streets and enjoying a delicious croissant, I stumbled upon the most delightful little studio called "Atelier de la Danse." This studio felt like a time capsule, a little pocket of French ballet history tucked away in the modern world. As soon as I stepped inside, I felt the passion and dedication that comes with a lifelong commitment to the art form.

There was an undeniable aura of history surrounding the studio, and I knew I had to get a closer look at the tutus they used for performances. My excitement soared as I was introduced to a selection of tutus, all crafted by local artisans. Each tutu was a masterpiece in itself - a testament to the incredible skill and dedication of these dedicated individuals.

Amongst the classic Romantic tutus made of many layers of delicate tulle and adorned with bows, I found a stunning range of modern tutus. They had everything from sleek and contemporary numbers, to dramatic and playful tutus that would have made even a prima ballerina stop and stare. They weren't shy with their creativity! Some of these tutus featured unusual embellishments - crystals, embroidery, even a tutu made from a mosaic of tiny pieces of mirrored fabric! Now that was something else! Talk about statement-making! My little ballet heart was singing!

Of course, I couldn't leave without trying a few on. Let's just say the French know a thing or two about looking elegant! One of the ladies who runs the studio, a woman with a wonderfully expressive face and twinkling eyes, helped me to find the perfect tutu for a classic pas de deux. As I stood before the mirror, twirling my tutu, I was transported to another world. It was magical. And as I continued my day, I couldn't shake off the feeling that I had discovered a secret gem tucked away in the heart of Paris, one that is sure to become a hidden treasure for anyone who has the chance to experience it.

So there you have it, my fellow ballet fanatics, Athis-Mons is more than just a town in the suburbs, it's a haven for artistic expression. If you're ever in the area, don't hesitate to visit "Atelier de la Danse". And for all of you passionate ballerinas out there, I encourage you to venture outside of your comfort zones. Discover your own local hidden gems, support your local studios and most of all, get your Tutu on!

P.S. While I was in Athis-Mons, I couldn't resist indulging in a traditional French pastry. I found the most beautiful little bakery called "La Boulangerie du Coin" that served the most delicious croissant I have ever had in my life! Just the perfect treat to accompany my Tutu Tuesday adventures.

Keep dancing, lovelies!
