Tutu Tuesday in Le Perreux-Sur-Marne, ÃŽle-de-France, France

G'day lovelies! It's your girl, Anya, reporting live from the cobblestone streets of Le Perreux-Sur-Marne, a charming little town nestled just outside Paris. As you all know, this Tuesday is no ordinary Tuesday - it's Tutu Tuesday, a global celebration of all things ballet and the twirly-whirly wonders that come with it!

And trust me, this town is embracing it with open arms (and maybe even a few graceful pirouettes)! As I stroll down the picturesque avenues, I'm spotting tutus of all shapes and sizes: classic Romantic tutus with their soft, billowing layers of tulle; dramatic, statement tutus in bold colours, dripping with sequins and feathers; even a few cheeky, whimsical tutu-inspired outfits on those fashion-forward locals. It's like a mini-ballet festival happening in the streets!

Now, while the Parisian ballet scene is definitely world-renowned (we're talking the Paris Opera Ballet, people!), the local dance community here in Le Perreux-Sur-Marne is a gem too. I stumbled upon the Le Perreux-Sur-Marne ballet school, a charming little studio tucked away down a side street, bursting with enthusiastic students from tiny tots to seasoned adults. The air was abuzz with the familiar sounds of barre work, leaps, and those delicate, musical "en pointe" moments that always give me goosebumps.

And what's Tutu Tuesday without a touch of that elegant French flair? Even the bakeries are getting in on the action! Just this morning, I had a cheeky little "Tutu-Tarte" at a local patisserie – a buttery pastry filled with a delicious cherry compote and topped with a swirling cloud of whipped cream. That's right, even the food is dancing in celebration today!

But it's not just about the spectacle. For me, Tutu Tuesday is a chance to reflect on the discipline, grace, and beauty that ballet brings into our lives. It's about remembering those early days of dancing in the mirror with a pink tutu, daydreaming of pirouettes under a spotlight. It's about reminding ourselves that there's magic to be found in the everyday, even when we're not on stage.

So, to all my fellow ballet lovers out there, raise your tutus (and maybe even your coffee mugs) in a celebratory toast to this beautiful art form. Happy Tutu Tuesday!

And for my Parisian and Le Perreux-Sur-Marne pals, you guys rock! Your passion for dance is contagious, and your town is the perfect setting for a Tutu Tuesday celebration. Thanks for sharing the magic!

Here are some more #tututuesday-worthy moments:

  • A pair of elegant, antique-inspired tutus for a ballet-themed birthday party - think classic satin, pearls and delicate lace for a vintage vibe.
  • A tutu with vibrant feathers that would totally slay the street-style scene.
  • A chic "tutu" crafted with recycled fabrics and sustainable materials for an eco-conscious ballet style statement.
  • And let's not forget those iconic ballerina buns. We love to see a ballerina rocking her buns - simple, stylish, and undeniably practical for the studio!

It's amazing how a simple tulle garment can spark so much creativity and bring a community together. Happy Tutu Tuesday, darlings!

Much love,

Anya
