## Tutu Tuesday in Saint-Laurent-du-Var, Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, France #tututuesday Bonjour mes amis! So, I've been in the South of France for a while now, soaking up the sunshine and exploring the breathtaking beauty of Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur. This week, I decided to bring the magic of ballet to this charming city, Saint-Laurent-du-Var. I'm talking about Tutu Tuesday, of course! You guys know how much I love celebrating the beauty of the tutu, and this week I couldn't resist bringing the twirl to this picturesque French city. I wanted to start off by sharing some of my insights about French ballet. Did you know that ballet is HUGE here? You see it everywhere. There are studios on every corner, and it’s an incredibly important part of the cultural landscape. From the Parisian ballet houses to the smaller provincial studios, the tradition is very much alive. You guys know that here at 'The Ballerina's Blog', we love a good Tutu Tuesday. But this Tuesday is extra special because I’m getting to showcase my love for dance in this beautiful corner of France. So, what’s a Tutu Tuesday in Saint-Laurent-du-Var without a little cultural exploration? My friend Marie-Claire is a local artist and is heavily involved with the ballet community in this town. She was happy to share some amazing insights into the history and cultural significance of the city’s local ballet school. They have a real connection to the history of the region, you know. It’s something the locals are really proud of! Marie-Claire told me that they believe dance is like poetry in motion, capturing stories and emotions in ways that words never could. Honestly, I can't help but agree with her! It's pure magic! We chatted about the different types of tutus I've seen around town, from the classic romantic tutus to the modern styles, there’s such a wonderful blend of tradition and contemporary flair. We even spent an afternoon discussing how those little fluffy things change completely with the style of the piece. There's such an art to the creation and construction of a tutu – you would never know it takes such meticulous craftsmanship, until you see the process in person. She’s going to be designing costumes for the next performance! Talk about amazing! There’s nothing more magical than seeing your hard work come to life on the stage! I even offered to be her design muse. Maybe one day we’ll see my designs grace a French ballet stage – now wouldn’t that be a dream! Of course, no Tutu Tuesday would be complete without a bit of fashion inspiration, so I’ve brought my favourite classic tutu. It’s this beautiful white romantic tutu. This style of tutu really emphasises the graceful movement of the ballerina, giving a classic ballerina vibe. It's so simple and elegant yet it's full of that romanticism. This style just epitomizes French femininity – it's incredibly charming, especially when paired with a chic blazer and simple loafers. My favourite looks for a chic Parisian ballerina: * A classic romantic tutu, paired with a crisp white shirt tucked into high waisted black trousers. * For a more casual approach, I paired a tutu with a chic black blazer and sleek loafers, adding a little more of that Parisian chic vibe. * I also adore the look of a tutu with a silk scarf, for that pop of colour. Just remember to keep it simple, nothing too busy, a bold print can steal attention away from the graceful movements of your tutu. If you want to check out these outfits, I've got more pics over on my blog - make sure to give it a look! Now let's talk about the location – oh boy! Saint-Laurent-du-Var is such a stunning little seaside town, nestled right on the Mediterranean coast, not too far from Nice. Think golden beaches, quaint cafes, charming bougainvillea-draped houses – a real haven for an aspiring dancer, let me tell you! The French Riviera lifestyle really embraces dance, fitness and staying active – the beach itself has become a natural ballet stage! And speaking of a stage, I found the most amazing old theater tucked away in the heart of Saint-Laurent-du-Var. Can you even imagine having a tutu twirl on that stage? I'm already planning a ballet inspired photo shoot, it's just a shame I can’t perform in front of the audience. That will have to wait for my next trip! Here's some advice from 'The Ballerina’s Blog' for your Tutu Tuesdays: * Find your style! - Everyone knows the joy of wearing a tutu, there are no wrong choices. There’s a perfect style for every ballerina and everyone has a unique interpretation! Just be true to your style. * Keep it fun and enjoy it! Tutus bring a smile to everyone's face! * Celebrate your passion! No matter if you’re in Saint-Laurent-du-Var or back home in your neighbourhood, don't forget to share the magic of ballet!
