Tutu Tuesday in Bègles, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France: A Ballet Blogger's Parisian Dream

G'day from the City of Lights! It's your favourite ballet-obsessed Aussie, Sarah, and today I'm waltzing through the streets of Bègles, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France. I know, I know, you're probably thinking "France? But Sarah, aren't you supposed to be in the Land Down Under?" Well, I've been on a bit of a whirlwind tour, and let me tell you, my love for ballet has led me to some truly magical places.

As you all know, I'm a huge fan of #TutuTuesday, and I couldn't resist embracing the Parisian spirit. It's impossible to come to this iconic city without feeling inspired by its timeless elegance. Ballet here, from the grand Opera Garnier to the intimate ateliers, just oozes sophistication. And as an Aussie who has danced since she could walk, I knew I had to incorporate this into my travels.

Now, I've always been a sucker for a classic tutu, you know, the kind that's light as air and spins like a dream. But Bègles has introduced me to a whole new world of tutu styles, each as captivating as the next. Imagine tutus in vibrant hues, from sunny yellows to fiery reds, and everything in between. Some are crafted with intricate details, others are wonderfully whimsical, each one reflecting the city's unique charm.

I started my day at a charming cafe in the heart of Bègles, where I caught the eye of a couple of friendly locals. "Vous dansez?," they inquired with genuine curiosity. My heart skipped a beat as I nodded, the excitement bubbling up. Their enthusiasm ignited the ballet flame in my soul.

One of the things that makes Bègles so special, for me, is the vibrant ballet scene here. The city has several studios that offer lessons, workshops, and performances. They even have a special program that focuses on promoting dance among young children.

One of my favourite experiences was attending a performance at the local theatre. I was swept away by the energy and passion of the dancers. The storytelling was exquisite, and the choreography left me utterly captivated. Their ability to express such a range of emotions through movement, even with language barriers, is remarkable.

My trip to Bègles, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, has given me a renewed appreciation for ballet, and it's made me realise just how universal the language of dance really is. I might have danced halfway across the world, but here in Bègles, I felt an instant connection through our shared love of the art. The feeling of community that ballet creates truly transcends borders.

To the #TutuTuesday crew out there, this is for you. Bègles is waiting, its spirit woven into every twirl and every pirouette.

Let's continue to celebrate our passion, and keep the flame of ballet burning bright, everywhere we go!

Stay tuned for more adventures from Sarah, your friendly ballet-obsessed blogger. Ciao for now!
