It's been a whirlwind of adventure since I touched down on French soil, but as a girl who lives and breathes ballet, it's safe to say that I'm absolutely smitten with the French ballet scene!
Today, I decided to kick off my "Tutu Tuesday" celebration, and you know me, I wouldn't be doing it right without bringing a touch of Aussie flair to the mix! But before I get to that, let's dive into the world of ballet in France - a world that's rich with history, artistry, and, dare I say, an alluring aura of je ne sais quoi.
One thing I've learned so far? Ballet in France is practically an institution. Think cobblestone streets, the Eiffel Tower, and a classic Parisian ballet performance. It's the kind of imagery that instantly conjures up romance and beauty. Even outside of the iconic Paris Opera Ballet, the artistry in every corner of France, like this little gem in Lomme, is beyond compare. Here, I've discovered a hidden treasure trove of talent, a vibrant community dedicated to ballet, and, to my immense delight, the most exquisite collection of tutus I've ever laid eyes on!
Speaking of tutus... this Tuesday has been all about getting my tutu on! You know I love a good classic "Romantic Tutu," with its floating layers of tulle and that effortless, airy feeling, but in Lomme, I found myself completely captivated by the "Neoclassical" and "Contemporary" tutu styles. These guys are all about bold design, daring colours, and unexpected silhouettes! Talk about a fun mix of ballet tradition and modern, experimental aesthetics!
Today's Tutu Tuesday look was all about celebrating both the iconic French ballet scene and my Aussie spirit, so I combined a classic Romantic Tutu with some signature Australian sunshine. It's my way of letting everyone know that I brought my Aussie spirit all the way to Lomme, Hauts-de-France.
