Tutu Tuesday in Les Pavillons-sous-Bois, ÃŽle-de-France, France #tututuesday G'day lovelies! It's your girl, Maisie, back from the cobblestone streets of Paris with a tutu-tastic Tuesday update! As you all know, #tututuesday is a sacred day in the life of any ballerina, and today's celebration found me right here in Les Pavillons-sous-Bois, ÃŽle-de-France, a suburb of Paris, soaking in the French ballet scene. Let me tell ya, there's something about the romance of Parisian ballet that just gets me going. It's not just the dreamy tutu styles – although let's be real, the tutus here are absolutely divine – it's the way the whole city breathes and pulsates with the rhythm of the dance. From the grand Palais Garnier to the intimate studio spaces tucked away in quaint alleyways, the spirit of ballet just oozes out of every cobblestone and Parisian café. So, where did my Tutu Tuesday journey take me today? Well, I started my morning with a classic French breakfast – croissants and strong coffee, of course – then headed to a little local studio in Les Pavillons-sous-Bois for a class. This little gem is called "Studio de Danse", and it's been a part of this suburb's cultural landscape for over 50 years. I love these local ballet spaces because they really capture the essence of what ballet is about – passion, community, and the pure joy of movement. Tutu Tuesday Fashion - The French Twist Now, onto the most important part – the tutus! Today's Tutu Tuesday outfit was a real ode to the classic Parisian ballerina style. I opted for a delicate white tutu, with a simple yet elegant design – it felt timeless and oh-so-French. Let's be real, the Parisian tutu scene is all about effortless chic and elegance, with a focus on delicate, romantic styles. The tutus here are more often than not, simple yet sophisticated – think classic white tulle with a touch of embroidery or delicate lace. It's the ultimate blend of ballerina sophistication and effortless French chic. A Parisian Ballet Experience After my class, I wandered around Les Pavillons-sous-Bois, taking in the atmosphere and snapping some pics with my little white tutu as a backdrop to the picturesque streets. The sun was out, casting a golden glow on everything – making it feel like the most romantic scene from a ballet performance. There's something magical about dancing in a place so rich in history and culture, especially when you’re in a city where art is considered the lifeblood. Of course, no Tutu Tuesday would be complete without some inspiration. So, I decided to pop into the Theatre Jean Marais in the neighbouring town of Saint-Denis, to see a contemporary ballet performance by a local company. Now, while I always love a good classic ballet performance, I must say that I was truly captivated by the raw emotion and technical skill displayed by the dancers. As always, the company wore a range of breathtaking tutus – there was one in particular with stunning silk petals woven into the tulle, creating this breathtaking three-dimensional floral pattern. Just another example of the unique creativity and flair found in French ballet, something you don't often see in ballet styles elsewhere in the world. It was definitely a beautiful reminder that ballet is a truly universal language, and the same passion and expression can be found on stages around the world. #tututuesday From the Streets of Les Pavillons-sous-Bois So, my fellow ballerinas, if you find yourself in the enchanting city of Paris, don’t just limit your dancing to the grand stages. Step off the beaten track and discover the heart and soul of ballet in the smaller towns and suburbs – it’s a captivating and fulfilling experience. And don't forget to embrace your inner ballerina with a Parisian touch, and enjoy a truly memorable #tututuesday!
