Tutu Tuesday in Achères, Île-de-France, France #tututuesday

G'day from Paris, lovelies! This week I'm taking Tutu Tuesday on the road, swapping the usual Sydney sunshine for the Parisian charm of Achères. It's a little town about 30 kilometres from the centre of the city, with a vibrant local community and a strong passion for the arts - including ballet, of course!

I've been spending some time exploring the ballet scene here, and let me tell you, the talent is unreal. The level of technique and artistry in Achères is top-notch, reminding me of the amazing work happening in our own Australian ballet companies. The students here are incredibly dedicated, and the instructors are true professionals. I was lucky enough to sit in on a couple of classes, and the energy in the room was infectious. They really put their hearts and souls into their dancing, which is truly inspiring.

While I was there, I couldn't resist visiting the local costume shop - a haven for ballet-obsessed folks like me. It was crammed full of tutus, leotards, and every ballet accessory you could imagine! From classic Romantic tutus, billowing like clouds, to the sleek, modern style with shorter layers, it was like stepping into a fairytale.

You wouldn't believe the range of colours and fabrics. From soft, delicate pink to striking, bold black, I was spoiled for choice. I ended up snapping a couple of classic, single-layer tutus for myself - one in a dreamy pastel pink, perfect for a light, ethereal look, and another in a deep, rich navy blue that oozes sophistication.

And guess what? They fit like a glove. Talk about finding a treasure! I know I'm going to have a ball wearing them at some upcoming workshops I'm doing back in Sydney. It's great to be able to bring a touch of Parisian elegance to the Aussie dance scene.

My #tututuesday outfit of the day was inspired by my Achères haul: - My brand new pink tutu, with a matching ballet bun held together by a dainty silk ribbon. - A fitted, long-sleeved black leotard for a bit of sophistication. - My favourite pink pointe shoes for a touch of tradition. - A chunky knitted cardigan to keep me warm during the Parisian spring evenings. - And a Parisian beret - it wouldn't be a trip to France without a little beret action!

For this particular #tututuesday post, I wanted to give a shoutout to the local ballet scene in Achères. It's inspiring to see how much they embrace ballet and the arts, creating a strong community and inspiring generations of young dancers.

If you're ever in the area, be sure to check out the ballet studios in Achères. You won't be disappointed!

Keep your toes pointed and your spirits high, - Tilly #tututuesday
