Tutu Tuesday in Villefontaine, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France: #tututuesday

G'day from Villefontaine, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France! This Aussie ballet chick is back with another #tututuesday post, this time from a new and exciting location. As many of you know, I've been travelling through Europe for the past few months, soaking up the culture and, of course, hitting up some incredible ballet studios along the way.

Villefontaine is a charming little town just outside Lyon. While not known for its grand ballet heritage like Paris or London, it definitely has a vibrant local dance community. There's a real passion for ballet here, and it shows in the dedicated dance schools and the talent that blooms from them.

It wouldn't be #tututuesday without some tutu talk, would it? The tutus here are as diverse as the dancers themselves. From the classic white pancake tutu, perfect for showcasing the elegant lines of classical ballet, to the more modern, flowing, and contemporary tutus designed for dynamic movements, I've spotted them all. It's a visual feast! The colours are incredible, from the soft pastels favoured for children's classes to the bold and vibrant shades favoured for more mature dancers. Each tutu tells a story, from the history of classical ballet to the cutting-edge movements of contemporary dance. It's all here in Villefontaine, folks.

One thing I've noticed is a real focus on quality in the tutus here. The fabric feels strong and supple, perfectly suited for those long hours of rehearsals. You know they've been designed and crafted with care for the dancers. That, along with the passionate teaching and inspiring performances, is what makes this town a ballet haven.

Now, I know you're dying to know what I'm wearing for my #tututuesday pic. I'm rocking a beautiful teal tutu with a flowing skirt. It's not your classic tutu, but it embodies the spirit of contemporary ballet – freedom of movement and expressive grace.

  • I've taken a few snaps of some tutus I've seen here in Villefontaine. I want you to judge my pick of best tutus - what are you loving most?

This tutu's definitely a crowd pleaser, and it's perfect for showcasing my fancy footwork (hopefully I can nail that next pirouette!).

As you can see, ballet in France has a distinct charm, a dedication to the artistry, and a joy in celebrating movement. It's been amazing getting to know the local ballet scene here in Villefontaine, and it's been a true honour to capture its spirit in my #tututuesday post. Stay tuned, folks, for more ballet adventures from this little Aussie dancer as I journey further through Europe.

Catch ya later!
