Tutu Tuesday in Le Pontet, Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, France #tututuesday
G’day lovelies! It’s Tutu Tuesday and I’m kicking off the week with a Parisian chic twist from sunny Provence. I'm currently touring France with the *Australian Ballet* and this week I’m lucky enough to be dancing in Le Pontet, Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur.
This quaint little town is a stone’s throw from Avignon, and if you’ve ever been to this area, you know how picturesque it is. It's been an absolute dream exploring the French countryside – think charming cafes, stunning architecture, and the most incredible wine – the French really know how to live!
Tutu Tuesday Fashion: French Flair Now, let’s talk Tutu Tuesday, which of course wouldn’t be complete without some outfit inspiration!
For today's look, I'm channeling the quintessential French vibe with a playful spin. Think beret, baguette (of course!), and a classic white cotton t-shirt tucked into some super high-waisted denim. My absolute go-to when travelling – stylish but comfortable enough for the long journeys and exploring on foot! I decided to up the ante with a delicate, powder-blue, tutu. I’ve been gravitating towards shorter tutus for casual looks, they look so cute! This one comes complete with a ruffled detailing, and it’s super flattering, allowing me to show off my moves whether I’m popping a plie at the ballet studio or showing off the cobbled streets of Le Pontet. It pairs perfectly with some trusty ballet flats - always comfortable and effortlessly chic!
For the final touch? I added a vibrant floral head scarf. Not only is it practical, it keeps my hair out of my face and provides some protection from the Mediterranean sun!
Ballet in France: Where Elegance Meets Passion
France, as you may know, is home to a rich and deeply cherished ballet heritage. From the grandeur of the *Paris Opera Ballet* to the intimate and passionate productions across the country, ballet is truly woven into the cultural fabric of this nation. The art of movement, expression, and artistry is alive and breathing in France, from the ballet schools to the stages.

Here in Provence, there is an undeniable passion for dance and an undeniable appreciation for the beauty of classical ballet. I've been fortunate enough to connect with local dance schools and community groups – it’s amazing to see their talent and enthusiasm. They are absolutely bursting with creativity. This vibrant energy is inspiring me, and I feel like the spirit of movement here is helping my own dancing come alive. It feels like I'm soaking up the French heritage through every graceful plié, pirouette, and jeté!

Le Pontet Ballet Scene: This week, I'm working with a young and talented troupe of dancers here in Le Pontet – they are truly gifted and passionate! I can already tell their commitment and talent is exceptional. Our performance tonight, showcasing Swan Lake, is set to be truly captivating, the music from *Tchaikovsky* is always breathtaking! We have been working tirelessly to put together a performance worthy of this incredible space and the devoted local community. I can already feel the audience’s excitement and can’t wait to take them on a magical journey!
It's truly humbling to be a part of the artistic scene in Le Pontet and to feel the energy of ballet resonate so strongly here. You feel a strong sense of community. The French truly have an innate love of the arts – whether you are at the opera, at a concert, or enjoying the grace of ballet, you just feel like you’ve entered a world of enchantment!
As we gear up for tonight's performance, it’s going to be a truly magical experience. It's hard not to get caught up in the joy of dancing – it really does feel like I’m living my dream! I am so grateful to have the opportunity to dance here, not just to share my passion for ballet but to be embraced by a community so dedicated to art.

I hope you'll all be inspired to get moving today! If you’re not in a tutú (no judgment!), don't worry. Just go for a dance, crank up the tunes, and have a good time. Who knows, maybe you’ll find yourself tapping your toes to a classic French melody - after all, that’s what Tutu Tuesday is all about. Don’t forget to share your photos on social media and hashtag #tututuesday!
Until next time, happy dancing, darlings!
xx
