Tutu Tuesday in Saint-Brice-sous-Forêt, Île-de-France, France #tututuesday

G'day from Paris, lovelies! I'm loving this Parisian life, the croissants, the cheese, the fashion… and, of course, the ballet!

This week, my Parisian adventure led me to Saint-Brice-sous-Forêt, a charming little town in Île-de-France. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city, Saint-Brice-sous-Forêt boasts an unexpected gem: the École de Danse Sylvie. This little ballet school oozes French elegance, with its polished wooden floors, grand mirrored walls and, of course, the most exquisite tutus I’ve seen. I mean, we're talking serious tulle here!

As a fellow dancer and tutu enthusiast, I had to step inside! I was instantly captivated by the ballet classes, where graceful young dancers pirouetted and pliéd with a precision that’s seriously inspiring.

But let's talk about the tutus. The school had a range of tutus that took my breath away!

  • Classic romantic tutus, like the iconic ‘Giselle’ style – billowing, ethereal tulle that looks like it could float on a cloud. Just the thought of twirling in one makes my heart sing.
  • There were also traditional ‘Swan Lake’ tutus. These stunners are so incredibly intricate! You know the ones: they have layers of tulle that creates an effortlessly elegant, swirling silhouette. I just love how they float when you twirl!
  • The most modern styles of tutu had the shortest skirts and felt so fresh and playful, a bit like a ballerina's answer to a party dress!

For me, there’s a tutu for every ballerina, a feeling for every style. I was really inspired by the atmosphere at École de Danse Sylvie. There was a palpable energy, a love for the craft, a feeling of shared passion…and the sheer joy of dancing!

And it was no surprise that the little ballerinas were also in love with their tutus! Watching them spinning and leaping, radiating confidence, was seriously inspiring! I'm certain those tutus were part of what brought them such happiness. After all, we all have our own little sartorial secret weapon, whether it's a sassy new frock or, in their case, their go-to tutu.

Seeing them dance and twirl in all their tutued glory definitely put a smile on my face. It’s days like this that I realise how much I love dancing and how truly important tutu’s are! #tututuesday

Tutus are a magical garment! A tutu says so much: elegance, grace, and power. And this day in Saint-Brice-sous-Forêt has confirmed my love for them and my belief that, no matter the age or experience level, the world needs more tutus, more twirling and definitely more #tututuesday!
