Tutu Tuesday in Francheville, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes: A Dance Across Cultures

G'day, lovelies! It's your girl, Chloe, coming to you live from the charming French town of Francheville, nestled in the heart of the Auvergne-Rh̫ne-Alpes region. Now, I know what you're thinking РFrance and ballet? It's a match made in heaven, right? And I'm here to tell you, this French ballet scene is seriously something else. There's such a rich history here, and a real passion for the art form. Plus, there's a certain je ne sais quoi about French tutus that just gets me going!

So, you know it's Tutu Tuesday and my inner ballerina couldn't resist grabbing her favourite tutu, which happens to be a classic romantic tutu in a beautiful blush pink. This beauty features layers and layers of tulle, cascading down to the floor in a gorgeous swirl. I've paired it with a simple white tank top, a touch of gold jewellery, and some classic ballet flats – perfect for strolling the cobbled streets of Francheville.

As I walk along, the fresh, crisp air invigorates me and I take in the sights. The local bakery beckons with the aroma of freshly baked bread, and I can hear the sound of laughter and conversation spilling out of a nearby café. This little French town really has that effortless charm. It's just so easy to get lost in the moment here and soak up the atmosphere.

Speaking of ballet, the local ballet school here in Francheville, "l’École de Danse Francheville," has some seriously talented students. I had the opportunity to drop in for a class yesterday, and I was blown away by their passion and dedication. The teacher, Madame Dubois, is a true artist and her classes are full of energy and fun.

In this class, I got to check out the various styles of tutus that these dancers were rocking. I was pretty impressed by their different choices and some serious creativity here! I saw everything from classic romantic tutus like mine to sleek and modern tutus. I also spied some seriously elaborate tutus with feathers, sequins, and even little ribbons. And don't even get me started on the colours - they were literally exploding with rainbows!

While each dancer’s style had its own flare, I did note a common element that I haven't experienced with dancers from other cultures – the incredible focus on elegance. Every movement was graceful, precise and controlled, creating an absolutely mesmerising ballet experience.

My heart’s truly dancing to the rhythm of life in this incredible town. Every corner of Francheville seems to offer a new delight and there's always something to inspire creativity and artistic exploration. If you’re a ballet enthusiast looking for something different or if you simply crave a unique French experience, Francheville needs to be on your list. It's a ballet lover's paradise and trust me, it's a hidden gem that won't disappoint.

I'm signing off for now, but be sure to catch me back next Tuesday for another dose of Tutu Tuesday magic. In the meantime, feel free to leave a comment below. I love hearing your thoughts! Also, make sure you’re following me on my socials - I'll be sharing more photos and stories from my journey, and I don’t want you to miss out! Bisous!

P.S. What are your favourite types of tutus? Let me know in the comments!
