It's your favourite Aussie ballet girl, and this week I'm taking you on a Parisian adventure (sorta) because I’m in the beautiful town of Riedisheim in Grand Est, France. Now, if you're picturing me twirling around the Eiffel Tower in a frilly tutu, you're close but not quite there! This is the land of grand châteaux and rolling vineyards, and let me tell ya, it’s as charming as a first date with a handsome French gentleman! Anyway, you all know I can’t pass up a chance to #tututuesday! And, let me tell you, I'm practically bursting with inspiration after discovering some absolute stunners in the local ballet scene. The dedication here is unreal! **A Whirlwind of Tutus** Now, we all know the classic white tutu, the epitome of ballerinas, graceful and flowing. It’s what comes to mind when we think of Swan Lake. Here in Riedisheim, they've taken that concept and turned it up a notch. • They've got the **‘Romance Tutu'**, you know, the romantic and beautiful white tulle. Like a perfect wedding dress, it captures all the grace of the swans and the innocence of young love. • Then there's the **‘Fée Tutu’**, featuring gorgeous floral designs on tulle that are all about whimsicality. It’s like stepping into a fairy tale! It screams 'enchanting', don't you think? • The **‘Belle Époque Tutu’** - oh, the elegance! This one channels that rich, romantic era, with its lavish, elaborate decorations and shimmering fabric. The artistry in the tutu making is amazing! I'm totally smitten with how the fabric falls and the intricate designs - it’s true artistry, you know? And don’t even get me started on the vibrant colours, the shimmery embellishments, and the overall sheer beauty of these masterpieces! The Riedisheim Ballet Scene Riedisheim is an actual hotspot for ballet. I'm so impressed! The ballet school, Académie de Danse Riedisheim, is bursting with talent. You know, there's something about the atmosphere, a real passion for dance in the air! I had a chat with one of the local ballerinas, Juliette, a real sweetheart who told me all about the French ballet tradition. She's even competing in the Grand Prix de Danse - I'm so excited for her! Turns out the region is full of interesting dance traditions! There’s a strong emphasis on classic techniques, the kind of stuff that makes my ballerina heart sing. Of course, the modern ballet scene is here, too. Riedisheim has this fabulous theatre where dancers push boundaries and make the crowd gasp with their performances! They’re so talented - seriously, you’ve gotta check them out if you get a chance. A Tutu Tuesday Tale For this #tututuesday, I'm all about incorporating the elegance and whimsical beauty I’ve found here. This little French town is inspiring me to embrace a softer look - imagine, lace, delicate textures, pastels… The beauty here is inspiring! And while the Grand Est might not have the glamorous aura of Paris, it definitely has its own kind of magic. You can't go to Paris and miss a ballet performance - it's like missing the croissants!
