You wouldn't believe the excitement surrounding this tiny French town right now - and no, it's not another French revolution, though that would definitely make for an interesting Tutu Tuesday! This week, it's all about the ballet, and let me tell ya, I'm totally obsessed! I mean, just imagine - France, the birthplace of classical ballet, right in front of your very own eyeballs!
And wouldn't you know it, I landed smack bang in the middle of a mini-ballet festival! So of course, a good old-fashioned Tutu Tuesday was in order, right? I've been trying my hardest to learn a bit of French, and let me tell ya, “Le Ballet” has definitely been the easiest thing to learn - who needs duolingo when you have ballerinas dancing like dreams, right?
Now, I wouldn't be doing Tutu Tuesday justice without mentioning the gorgeousness that was on display, right? Think dreamy pastel tutus with swirling, floaty fabrics. Picture intricate embroideries and sparkling sequins that wouldn't look out of place on a runway. And let's not forget the elegant, graceful pointe shoes! It was basically like a fairytale in real life! I even spotted some tutu variations, from the classic Romantic tutu, so wispy and light, to the more modern-day variations, like the 'whimsical tutu', which added a splash of colourful fun and movement with their layered textures and flowy silhouettes. Seriously, even if you're not a huge ballet fan, you have to check out these stunning garments!
Speaking of breathtaking, the actual ballet performance was simply sensational! You know that feeling when your heart practically bursts with emotion? Well, that's what I felt! It's incredible to watch how these ballerinas tell stories through their movements, their facial expressions, and their incredible grace. Watching their moves, you can't help but get lost in the magic and the artistry, it's truly a captivating spectacle.
So what did I do, you ask, amidst all this ballet fever? Well, you can imagine, my Tutu Tuesday was pretty much a whirlwind! I strutted around in a classic, sweet-as-pie ballerina-inspired tutu with a bright floral pattern. Just to fit in, naturally! (Let's just say my love for tulle was fully on display!). I snapped photos like crazy and chatted with some of the dancers (trying to pronounce their names - tricky!). They even gave me some tips for mastering the “chassé” and the “piqué”! Of course, the best part about the whole experience? Connecting with fellow dance lovers from all over!
