Tutu Tuesday in Bougival, ÃŽle-de-France, France #tututuesday

G'day, fellow twirling enthusiasts! It's your girl, Chloe here, bringing you a dose of French chic and a whole lotta tutu love straight from the picturesque town of Bougival in the ÃŽle-de-France region.

Now, I know what you're thinking: "Tutu Tuesday? In France? Chloe, are you serious?" But hear me out! As any true ballet aficionado knows, France is practically the birthplace of ballet. From the legendary Paris Opera Ballet to the smaller, more intimate companies dotted throughout the countryside, the French have a deep-rooted passion for this art form. And Bougival is no exception!

This charming little town has a vibrant dance scene, with a number of local ballet schools and studios that churn out talented dancers every year. The French ballet scene here is all about classical technique, elegance, and precision. They take their training seriously, but they also have a lightness and joy about it that's contagious. It's a far cry from the more structured, competitive world of professional ballet in Australia, and it's a refreshing change of pace.

Now, back to my Tutu Tuesday adventures. For those of you new to this brilliant tradition, it's a weekly celebration of the iconic garment that is the ballet tutu. Every Tuesday, we bust out our tulle and lace, whether it be the classic Romantic tutu, the layered tutu, the tutu-length skirt, or even a tutu-inspired outfit. It's all about celebrating the magic of ballet, whether you're a seasoned dancer or simply admire the artistry from afar.

So, where did I go on my tutu-clad escapade in Bougival? Let's just say, I wasn't shy about bringing a little bit of sparkle to the local streets!

First stop: The charming bakery. This delightful little boulangerie had a stunning display of croissants and pastries. I made sure my tutu was front and center as I grabbed my daily dose of carbs.

Next, the flower market.Bougival has a weekly market with fresh flowers and local produce. It's a sensory delight, and my tutu became the perfect accessory for wandering among the colours and scents. I even spotted some flower crowns - who knew!?

The park is next on the itinerary! With my tutu swirling behind me, I walked around the peaceful park and even caught some local kids practicing ballet moves. It's great seeing a younger generation of dancers embrace the art.

As the day wound down, I enjoyed a traditional French picnic in the park with a bunch of friends who were equally embracing the #tututuesday spirit. I may have had a few giggles over the fact that this could only happen in a place like France, where a tutu wouldn't turn heads.

But honestly, what I love most about Tutu Tuesdays is the feeling of connection it brings. We share a love for dance, and even more importantly, a love for expressing ourselves through art.

I don't know about you guys, but I think we could all benefit from a bit more Tutu Tuesday in our lives. Whether it's a full-on tulle ensemble or simply a sprinkle of sparkle in your everyday attire, let's make this world a more dance-filled, and dare I say, more fun place to be.

So, until next time, remember to twirl with joy, be fearless in your self-expression, and always, always, make it Tutu Tuesday!

Here are some #tututuesday moments captured on film in Bougival:

  • A selfie with my classic romantic tutu in the heart of the Bougival market, because it wouldn't be #tututuesday without a dose of vintage flair.
  • A twirling session in the park, where the sunlight hit my tulle just right, creating the most magical effect.
  • My friends and I trying on our tutu-inspired accessories - we looked like ballerinas on a field trip!
