Tutu Tuesday in Tomblaine, Grand Est, France: A Parisian Dream #tututuesday Bonjour, mes amis! As a passionate Australian ballet dancer who’s taken the leap to a Parisian adventure, it’s not just the croissants that I’m falling head over heels for, but also the French appreciation for the art of ballet. And what better way to embrace my inner ballerina than to share my adventures on a sunny #tututuesday in the quaint, historic city of Tomblaine? So buckle up, you guys, for a sartorial and cultural voyage into the world of tutus and their timeless appeal! **From Poirot to Pointe Shoes:** Walking through the charming cobblestone streets of Tomblaine feels like stepping into a classic Agatha Christie novel, except instead of a mischievous murder mystery, I'm indulging in a sartorial love affair with all things ballet. This is a city steeped in history and elegant French culture. While my little apartment isn’t exactly the French chateau of my dreams, I’m happy to say it’s conveniently located near the gorgeous local theatre where a world of classical ballet unfolds. And let me tell you, they know their tutu in this town! From the iconic, romantic, long tutus favoured by Tchaikovsky and even the super short tutus (my personal faves for that powerful performance edge), the dancers here have me truly impressed. A Parisian Fashion Frenzy: The French Tutus Take the Stage Okay, seriously, even if I had my way I’d live in a tutu 24/7, but alas, the local dance studio's 'Tutu Only' dress code applies just during the classes (don’t worry I've got a wardrobe fit for a ballerina and a fashionista both). But seeing the gorgeous Parisian dancers float through their routines in such a delicate and iconic attire – there’s simply no comparison. #tututuesday – The Parisian Twist on a Beloved Trend From a soft and romantic pale pink for 'La Bayadere', to a dramatic black, with sleek, almost military, precision, every tutu has a story and history attached. And with #tututuesday reaching all corners of the globe, even in this French town where traditional elegance takes centre stage, there’s definitely a local embrace of the ballet and the iconic, elegant tulle and satin. For this #tututuesday, I went with a traditional pale pink tutu. But with a twist! It has subtle black lace trim - the Parisian touch I just couldn't resist. For a perfect dance look, you just need a bit of sparkle and flair, so I've paired this romantic ballerina favourite with some dazzling, ruby-red ballet shoes. Oh là là! I feel like I’ve just stepped off the stage at the Grand Palais (except I'm not holding a croissant yet). **But My Tutus Don’t Stop in Tomblaine! #tututuesday Travels Around the World** Tomblaine has truly captivated me with its history and culture, especially its appreciation for ballet. It's inspiring to see how a seemingly simple piece of fabric – the tutu – has become such an international icon of art and grace, not just here in the heart of France but across the world. You know that tutu magic happens globally, from the bustling metropolis of Sydney to the quieter corners of rural New South Wales, tutu love is contagious! #tututuesday Is a Celebration of Style, Art, and Female Empowerment! The hashtag has spread so widely that even the local French Instagramers, are getting in on the fun – and embracing all the classic tutu shapes, with their unique Parisian spin on fashion! My little French journey’s not over, and neither is #tututuesday – every day’s a chance to explore, express, and inspire! Who knows what exciting tutu-ful discoveries lie ahead? But for now, Tomblaine and its passion for ballet have absolutely stolen my heart, and reminded me why I fell in love with this danceform all those years ago! Keep your eyes peeled for more of my #tututuesday adventures, mes amis. Until next time, happy dancing!
