Tutu Tuesday in Terrenoire, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France - #tututuesday G'day lovelies! It's your girl, Maddie, back with another fab fashion post. Today I'm stepping out of my usual studio in Melbourne and onto the cobbled streets of Terrenoire, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France. You see, this little Aussie ballet bird has been lucky enough to score a spot at a prestigious summer program at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon. Talk about a dream come true! So naturally, my first order of business was to hit the local shops and get myself a new tutu for #tututuesday. Tutu Tales - From the Ballet Studio to the Parisian Streets Now, I'm a big fan of a classic romantic tutu, you know, the kind with the layers and layers of tulle that makes you feel like a ballerina from a fairy tale. But this time around, I wanted something a little more edgy. I've been digging the contemporary styles lately, you know, with the shorter layers and more sculpted silhouette. Think less "Sleeping Beauty" and more "Black Swan." I stumbled upon this gorgeous black tulle tutu with a cheeky split up the front. The kind that screams "I'm a dancer, but I'm not afraid to have some fun!" Terrenoire's Dance Delights After grabbing my new tutu, I had to take it for a spin around Terrenoire. The city is absolutely buzzing with a love of dance! From the ballet schools that line the streets to the public squares where locals gather to dance, there's a vibrant dance scene here. I even saw a group of kids taking ballet classes in a local park - so cute! The enthusiasm for the art form here is simply infectious. Parisian Elegance with a Terrenoire Twist Of course, no #tututuesday post would be complete without a touch of Parisian chic. So, I paired my tutu with a fitted black top and a pair of pointy black boots - it's like ballet meets Parisian street style! The vibe here in Terrenoire is so laid-back and effortlessly stylish, and my outfit reflected that. It was the perfect combination of elegance and a little bit of Aussie swagger. A Word From a Ballet Bird My time in Terrenoire has been an absolute whirlwind of ballet inspiration and French fashion. It's a little piece of heaven for any dancer. And while my new tutu might be the perfect "I'm on holiday" piece, it's got a lot of mileage in my wardrobe - you can bet I'll be rocking it back in Melbourne too! Until next time, keep on dancing! - Maddie
