Tutu Tuesday in Beauzelle, Occitanie, France - A Ballet-Loving Aussie's Adventures! #tututuesday

G'day, fashionistas and ballet aficionados! This week's #tututuesday finds me in the charming town of Beauzelle, Occitanie, France. While I'm here to immerse myself in the world of French ballet, I couldn't resist showcasing the iconic tutu – a timeless dancewear essential – amidst this picturesque landscape.

Let me tell you, the French are seriously passionate about their ballet. I've already witnessed a couple of incredible performances – one in the magnificent Opéra Garnier in Paris, and another in the more intimate setting of the Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse. The artistry, the passion, the sheer athleticism of these dancers - it's all just so breathtaking! The tutus on stage were simply spectacular, with delicate layers of tulle and elaborate detailing. It's no wonder this garment is considered a symbol of ballet's elegance and beauty.

Today's #tututuesday is about the "Tutu Traveller." It's all about embracing the Parisian chic style with a hint of "je ne sais quoi." This outfit is my personal take on this timeless combination – classic elegance with a touch of whimsy.

The Look:

  • I've chosen a soft blush pink tulle tutu with a slightly fitted bodice and a flowy skirt – the perfect blend of romance and movement. The intricate hand-stitching on the bodice and the delicate ruffles of tulle are the details that elevate this tutu from casual to special. It is light, comfortable, and most importantly, it allows me to twirl with abandon!
  • For a sophisticated touch, I paired it with a sleek black crop top, highlighting the beautiful drape of the tutu skirt. The black contrasts the pink, offering a pop of classic elegance against the vibrant tutu.
  • To complete this chic and playful look, I'm wearing my trusty black ballet flats – so stylish yet practical – that I found in a charming little shop on a side street in Beauzelle. These flat ballet shoes add a touch of urban coolness, keeping the outfit grounded and wearable. They make the perfect complement to the delicate flow of the tulle.
  • To tie in this timeless classic French style with my #tututuesday ensemble, I added a chic and practical leather handbag, my trusty go-to, which provides a touch of sophistication and gives the whole outfit a touch of Parisian glamour. The leather provides a sharp contrast to the tulle, keeping things sophisticated and refined.

The Backstory:

In a quaint cafe, tucked away in the heart of Beauzelle, surrounded by the aroma of fresh croissants and the chatter of local residents, I decided this #tututuesday would be about celebrating the art of ballet with a playful nod to my own Aussie spirit. And so, I put on my best tutu and hit the cobblestone streets!

I find there's something truly enchanting about a tutu. Its floaty tulle embodies all things magical, from fairy tales to the elegance of ballet itself. It’s a powerful symbol of femininity, grace, and strength – and it doesn't matter whether you're a professional dancer or simply a ballet lover at heart. This #tututuesday was a reminder that you can embrace your inner ballerina anywhere, anytime!

Now, I may be thousands of kilometers away from home, but my heart beats to the rhythm of ballet – even when I'm wandering the charming streets of Beauzelle. This small town has its own hidden gem of a ballet school, Ecole de Danse Beauzelle, and I was absolutely delighted to meet its passionate director, a former professional dancer who has instilled a love for the art form in the local children.

Talking to her and observing the vibrant, young students learning their craft – their enthusiasm was contagious. They showed me a beautiful, small studio, and I saw their practicing in their carefully tailored tutus. This experience really hammered home how ballet connects us all – whether we are professional ballerinas, dedicated amateurs, or simply people who appreciate the art of movement and graceful expression.

From French ballet studios to bustling streets – #tututuesday in Beauzelle, Occitanie, has been a real joy. This day is a reminder that the tutus are much more than just dancewear, they are a powerful symbol of feminine power and elegance. I’ll keep on exploring and will share my tutu adventures in future blog posts – Stay tuned!
