Tutu Tuesday in La Mulatière, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France: #tututuesday

G'day from sunny, sophisticated, and stylish La Mulatière! As you know, #tututuesday is a tradition I hold very dear. It's all about embracing the beauty and elegance of a good tutu, whether you're a professional ballerina or just someone who loves a bit of sparkle in their life.

So, here I am in this gorgeous little town, tucked away in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. It's a haven of history, stunning architecture, and charming streets. But for me, it’s about the dance scene. As a ballet dancer myself, I can't help but be drawn to the vibrant dance communities scattered across the globe. There’s something so powerful and captivating about seeing dancers interpret and share their stories through the art form.

This week, my #tututuesday journey took me to the Salle des Fêtes in La Mulatière, a charming little hall brimming with the energy of passionate young dancers. The 'Association Ballet du Rhône' hosted an enchanting program of classic and contemporary ballet pieces, showcasing the local talent. It's amazing to see how even in small communities, the spirit of dance thrives. They’re absolutely killing it!

I saw a couple of breathtaking variations; the kind that makes your jaw drop and leave you wanting more. It was captivating, not only to see the skill and precision, but the artistry that went into expressing such diverse themes and emotions. One dancer was an absolute vision in a dreamy, billowing Romantic tutu - you know, the kind with layers and layers of soft tulle and that gentle cascade. This dancer had the audience enthralled. The precision, the grace, the flow - the movements literally seemed to paint pictures with their bodies.

Later, a piece that caught my eye involved a contemporary style tutu - a bit more streamlined, modern and made of stretch fabric - this piece allowed for amazing, fluid movements, powerful and evocative - you could see the struggle, the joy, the sheer expression on the dancer’s face through the entire piece.

Let me tell you, French ballet is unique. It's a captivating blend of classic elegance and innovative approaches to storytelling. It was a real pleasure to witness the heart and soul they poured into each movement. From the intricate footwork to the graceful arm extensions, the dancers here are on another level.

You know, one of my favourite things about the French dance scene is their openness to exploring new styles and collaborations. Ballet is not just a static tradition here; it’s a living, breathing art form, constantly evolving and captivating. I feel a deep connection to this beautiful artistry – and as a passionate dancer myself, I find it utterly inspiring.

So, my #tututuesday mission has been fulfilled – I found an exquisite ballet performance in this quaint town and I'm thoroughly inspired. If you ever find yourself in La Mulatière, do yourself a favour and check out 'Association Ballet du Rhône'! It's truly an incredible gem.

Of course, a #tututuesday exploration wouldn’t be complete without a little fashion chat, right? It was my last night in La Mulatière, and I was feeling like I needed to treat myself, so, I ventured out to a few vintage shops (a total fashion girl’s weakness, especially when you’re on a grand European adventure, right?) And OMG I found the perfect, little, delicate floral print top to pair with my own white Romantic tutu. This is my dream look – absolutely divine.

It's a perfect outfit for strolling through the picturesque streets, maybe grabbing some macarons at a quaint cafe (because hello, France!). If you’re feeling a little fancy yourself, there’s nothing better than rocking a tutu while enjoying some of France’s culinary delights. It’s all about the feeling!

Tutu Tuesday isn't just about a garment, it’s a symbol. It represents our strength, grace, and individuality. A tutu embodies the dedication to the artistry of movement.

Anyway, gotta go now! It’s my last night in La Mulatière and it's time to savour the delicious French countryside. Cheers to #tututuesday and until next week, may your twirls be high and your steps light! Catch ya on the ‘Gram xx
