Tutu Tuesday in Korumburra, Victoria

Hey everyone, it's your girl, Amelia, back with another post from the magical world of ballet! And today's theme, you guessed it - it's #tututuesday. I've got my eye on a stunning pink, fluffy tutu in my head, ready to grace the streets of this charming little town. You'd never believe it, but Korumburra in Victoria, Australia is about to get a dose of serious tutu power.

Now, let's be real, tutu's are pretty iconic - right? And trust me, the kind of tutu you pick makes all the difference. For #tututuesday in Korumburra, we're talking all sorts of fabulously whimsical styles - we're going beyond the classic Romantic tutu that we've all seen in countless performances at the Australian Ballet.

Today's tutus will be less Swan Lake, more *“I’m going to conquer this day, one twirl at a time"*. So what styles are we thinking, you ask? Here are a few ideas I've been brainstorming:

  • A Classic Tulle Tutu: Imagine a short, full skirt of shimmering tulle, just like those in The Sleeping Beauty or Don Quixote. Picture it twirling down the street and catching the light – totally fairytale-worthy!
  • The Modern Ballerina: Think a more contemporary tutu that’s less frills and more cool. Maybe a simple, asymmetrically shaped tutu that gives a little more structure than the classic fluffy look? A simple jersey style tutu - so modern and easy.
  • The Statement Piece: Don’t be shy about color! A bright, bold tutu will absolutely turn heads in Korumburra, even if it is a bit more eccentric. Just picture a hot pink tutu and some glittery flats… it'll make you shine.
  • A Custom Tutu: DIY it, darling! I'm talking upcycled, sustainable style! If you're feeling creative, this could be your chance to showcase your own unique personality in the form of a one-of-a-kind tutu. An old wedding dress perhaps?

Whatever style you choose, the most important thing about Tutu Tuesday is that you embrace it! Show your inner ballerina, even if it’s just a cheeky twirl on the sidewalk, you are your own artist and own dancer. Even the smallest town deserves some glamour and #tututuesday is a fun way to celebrate creativity and individuality - and of course, that fabulous tutu twirl.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how everyone in Korumburra is styling their tutus. You guys always blow me away with your originality!
