Now, Abermain is a little hidden gem nestled amongst the rolling hills of the Hunter Valley, known for its rich history and gorgeous countryside. It's a far cry from the bustling studios of Sydney and Melbourne, but that's what makes this town so special. A quiet haven for a ballet lover like myself.
And speaking of havens, today's #TutuTuesday takes us to a most unexpected haven: a quaint antique store nestled on a quiet street. I've always had a soft spot for vintage finds, especially when it comes to tutus. There's something magical about holding a piece of dance history in your hands. It's like the whisper of countless pirouettes, leaps, and grand jetés still resonates through the fabric.
So, I'm diving headfirst into this treasure trove of tutus, and what a treasure it is! I found myself surrounded by a symphony of tulle - delicate wisps of soft pastel pink and creamy white, bold strokes of vibrant scarlet and deep emerald. Each one whispered tales of bygone eras: elegant Victorian pointe shoes, classic 1950s styles with fluffy, full skirts, and even some sassy 80s neon tutus.
