Tutu Tuesday in Beveridge, Victoria: A Tutu-tiful Day in the 'Burbs

G'day fellow tutu enthusiasts! It's your girl, Ella, here, and I'm back with another #tututuesday post, but this time we're stepping out of the studio and into the suburbs! That's right, my #tututuesday adventure took me to the heart of Beveridge, Victoria, and trust me, it was an absolute hoot.

Beveridge, for those unfamiliar, is a lovely little town located about an hour north of Melbourne. It's known for its friendly community and, surprisingly, a vibrant little tutu scene! Okay, maybe not *vibrant* *vibrant*, but as a ballet dancer who loves a bit of a twirl, it was delightful to see even a hint of tutus in my 'burbs.

My tutu for the day was a classic romantic style. It had layers upon layers of soft tulle that made me feel like I was floating on a cloud (just like any good tutu should). I paired it with a simple black crop top and some ballet flats โ€“ comfortable and chic, you know?

My tutu journey started at the Beveridge Market, where they held a little craft market every Saturday. There I found this amazing local artist, Sarah, who's selling the most incredible hand-painted tutus! Think bright colours, bold designs, and even some with little sequin embellishments. If I wasn't saving for a new pair of pointe shoes, I would've snagged one of Sarah's beauties in a heartbeat!

Then, after browsing the market, I decided to get a caffeine fix at a cafe called "The Whimsical Whisk". (How fitting, right?). Turns out they have the most amazing lattes with little tutu drawings on the top. Honestly, it made my day. A latte that matches your outfit โ€“ now that's #tututuesday goals!

And what is a trip to the 'burbs without a stop at the local bakery? Beveridge has this old-school bakery that smells amazing, with shelves packed with sourdough bread, cakes, and cookies. But what stole my attention? You guessed it, a miniature tutu-shaped cake! My #tututuesday was complete!

Now, I'm not going to lie, rocking a tutu in Beveridge was a bit out of the ordinary, but it was also an amazing experience! The locals were so friendly and surprised that they'd bumped into a ballet dancer in their little town. Even a little boy (who I swear had the biggest grin I've ever seen) called me a "ballerina" as I walked past. Seriously, made my heart melt!

But hey, that's the beauty of #tututuesday โ€“ it's all about celebrating the joy of movement, style, and creativity, wherever you may be. Whether you're a seasoned ballerina or just someone who loves twirling around in a tulle skirt, #tututuesday is a day to embrace your inner dancer. And in a town like Beveridge, it's all about making every day a little bit tutu-ful.

Now, here are my #tututuesday takeaway tips for you lovely ladies (and gents!) out there:

  • Go beyond the studio! Step out of your comfort zone and explore. Maybe a picnic in the park with your favourite tutu? Or, even better, wear a tutu while running errands? Think outside the box!
  • Own it! A little self-confidence can go a long way! Rock your tutu with pride and you'll find that even strangers will want to join in on the fun!
  • Keep it lighthearted. This isn't about ballet perfection or achieving a certain aesthetic. It's about expressing yourself through the joy of dance!

Okay, that's a wrap for my #tututuesday in Beveridge, Victoria. Until next time, keep dancing, keep twirling, and keep it tutu-ful!
