Tutu Tuesday in Cooranbong, New South Wales: A Tutu-tastic Day Out!
G'day lovelies! It's your girl, Chloe, and you know what day it is… it’s Tutu Tuesday!
Today I ventured out of the studio and into the sunshine of Cooranbong, NSW, for a dose of tutu-licious fun. The weather was picture-perfect, the birds were singing, and the coffee was hot – what more could a girl ask for on a Tuesday?
Cooranbong might not be the obvious choice for a tutu-tastic outing, but it surprised me with its charm. The little shops lining the main street are so quaint, and the community atmosphere is just delightful.
First stop? The bakery, of course. Nothing like a buttery croissant and a cappuccino to start the day. It’s always fascinating how quickly you start associating yummy smells with particular moments in time – those smells of baking pastries were quickly transporting me to all the happy memories I have of our childhood. Of course, I couldn’t resist the temptation to buy a delicious, sugar-coated doughnut! They are a bit of a guilty pleasure. I don’t mind saying, I polished that off with my coffee while planning out my tutu-filled day! I can already hear the angels playing their harps about how much sugar is in this sweet, sweet doughnut – it’s OK I’ve got the energy for today – I'll be burning it off during a practice session later tonight at the studio.
As I wandered around town, I was struck by the sense of calm and peace that hung in the air. Cooranbong really is the type of place where you can just relax and be yourself – no judgments, no stress, just happy vibes.
I spotted a little craft shop crammed full of colourful yarn, vintage teacups, and hand-made cards – and it was love at first sight! I've been hankering for a new yarn to work on a little hand-knitted project I'm putting together for a friend of mine, It took all my willpower to choose one – but in the end, the beautifully textured baby blue, with sparkly thread woven through it, beckoned me in.
My inner dancer, and of course my tutus, weren't to be ignored either. It seems to be that, in my everyday life, I need my tutu at all times – and today was no different! I chose my stunning, ivory silk tutu for this outfit! It felt luxurious and swishy – everything I wanted. And the way it danced in the wind? Pure magic! And the absolute BEST part was all the passersby commenting on how amazing the tutu looked. That is my kinda Tuesday!
The tutu I wore for my walk through Cooranbong felt perfect – and my choice of shoes had a touch of something a bit special: black patent court shoes! It’s that little bit of elegance that made this ensemble perfect. And that extra sprinkle of magic just takes my tutu and turns it into my go-to look – whether for brunch with friends, or a day spent shopping in my favourite towns.
For the next hour or so, I popped in and out of the shops, picking up some goodies and chatting with the friendly locals. Everyone was so warm and welcoming, I felt right at home. I ended up buying the most adorable handmade mug with a sweet little quote – “If it involves dancing, I’m in” Isn’t it cute! It’s definitely the perfect thing to remind me to always make time for my passion, dancing.
Speaking of which, it's back to the studio for a spot of practice now! After a fun, fulfilling, and definitely tutu-filled day. It’s easy to see why I love Cooranbong - and, in particular, my lovely tutu, as much as I do.
To sum up this little journey in Cooranbong - if you're ever looking for a place to escape the city and recharge your batteries, look no further than this charming town. Just remember, a little bit of tutu can go a long way and even make the simplest day the best kind of fun.
