I’ve been living in Tamworth for almost five years now. The dance community here is truly vibrant, with passionate dance schools and local performances that leave you feeling inspired. So, it's no surprise that Tutu Tuesday is a massive hit. Everywhere you look, people are flaunting their inner ballerina, and it’s just the best!
Now, about those tutus! It’s been a visual treat seeing so many different styles hitting the streets. From the classic romantic tutus – billowing layers of tulle that evoke those romantic, ethereal scenes from Swan Lake - to the playful and contemporary styles that blend modern dance with that signature tutu flair. Some are rocking those ultra-short and edgy tutus, making a bold statement about the versatility and modernity of ballet today. And the colour palettes have been incredible - shades of emerald, rose gold, midnight blue… these West Tamworth tutus really are taking centre stage!
Here’s what caught my eye this morning as I grabbed a flat white (and a delicious ‘Aussie’ meat pie, you know how we roll in this part of the country!):
