Tutu Tuesday in Tanunda, South Australia #tututuesday

G'day, fellow dance enthusiasts! It's your girl, Chloe, back with another Tutu Tuesday adventure, and this time we're venturing out of the city and into the heart of the Barossa Valley โ€“ Tanunda, South Australia.

As a dancer, I live and breathe tutus. There's nothing quite like the feeling of a perfectly fitted tutu swirling around you as you leap across the stage, right? But, beyond the stage, I'm also a huge fan of incorporating tutu vibes into my everyday style. I'm talking tulle skirts, tulle dresses, and even the occasional tutu top (because why not?).

So, you can imagine my excitement when I planned a Tutu Tuesday excursion to Tanunda. It was the perfect setting โ€“ lush vineyards, historic architecture, and plenty of charming cafes and boutiques. Now, if you're picturing a ballerina prancing through vineyards in a traditional, multi-layered classical tutu, think again.

For Tanunda, I chose a contemporary style: a soft, flowing tulle skirt in a deep berry hue. The colour was inspired by the stunning red wines of the Barossa, and the flowy silhouette was perfect for navigating the cobblestone streets and picturesque pathways of the town.

My first stop was the iconic St. Michael's Lutheran Church. The church's intricate architecture and vibrant stained glass windows seemed to dance with my tulle skirt as I posed for photos. The perfect juxtaposition of modern and classic, my skirt against the ancient stone.

Next, I ventured into the heart of the town. I was greeted with an explosion of charming shops. Each boutique I stepped into had its own unique flavour โ€“ elegant linen garments in muted colours, vibrant Aboriginal art pieces, and a bakery filled with the irresistible smell of freshly baked bread. I managed to resist the siren song of all the goodies and stayed focused on finding the perfect wine pairing for my skirt.

Let's talk about the wines, because honestly, what's a visit to Tanunda without a taste of the legendary Barossa wines? My Tutu Tuesday style called for a lighter red wine โ€“ something fruity, vibrant, and as bold as my outfit.

Later that day, I found myself sitting in the courtyard of a quaint vineyard, soaking in the afternoon sunshine. I shared a bottle of Shiraz with some local friends, who couldn't stop gushing about my tutu-inspired style. We laughed, we sipped our wines, and we discussed all things fashion, dance, and the magic of the Barossa. The entire afternoon was the perfect embodiment of a Tutu Tuesday adventure - a blend of artistry, culture, and good times.

Here are some things I learned on my Tanunda Tutu Tuesday:

  • Never underestimate the power of a well-chosen tutu. (Or a tulle skirt for that matter). You can take your Tutu Tuesday anywhere, even a charming little town in the Barossa Valley.
  • You don't need to wear a traditional tutu to make a statement. There's a whole world of tutu-inspired styles out there, waiting to be explored. So get creative and embrace the tutu vibes, whether you're hitting up the vineyards, a museum, or just a weekend picnic in the park.
  • Australia is bursting with incredible destinations to celebrate your inner tutu enthusiast โ€“ from bustling cities to serene vineyards, there's a perfect place for every Tutu Tuesday. Embrace the creativity, embrace the fun, and remember, every day is an opportunity to express your individuality!

Stay tuned for more Tutu Tuesday adventures. Until then, happy dancing, happy styling, and happy Tutu Tuesdays!

Love,

Chloe
