This Tuesday, I found myself in Legana, a charming town tucked away in the heart of Tasmania, and let me tell ya, the vibes were totally tutu-licious!
It's amazing to see how ballet's taking hold in Australia. I mean, there's a whole community here in Tassie who just love to twirl. From the young dancers starting out in their little "pointe shoe" classes to seasoned professionals, we have a real passion for this beautiful art form!
So, Legana - what's your vibe, you ask? Honestly, it's a bit like stepping into a time capsule. It’s got this vintage, charming charm to it. But here’s the thing: it's a community where they know how to party! They've got a thriving art scene and, of course, a big passion for dance.
My mission for #tututuesday in Legana was simple - to bring the joy of ballet to the town’s hearts! But this wasn't just any #tututuesday – it was all about embracing the local style, embracing the quirky nature of the place. And what's more quirky than a tutu?!
Now, Legana – you need to understand – is not a big city. There’s not a lot in the way of a ballet studio, or even a stage, but I knew that wouldn't stop me from spreading the love. I brought with me a collection of tutus that had me looking like a ballet princess gone wild - think fluffy pink tutus, sparkling silver numbers, and some seriously sassy black and white tutus. The idea was to showcase a whole range of styles, from the classic Romantic tutu to the bold, contemporary creations! Because when it comes to tutus, it's all about finding the one that makes you feel like a queen.
My #tututuesday journey began with a spontaneous visit to the Legana Primary School. These kids are so energized and enthusiastic – I was blown away! They had a great time trying out all the tutus, dancing around like fairytale characters! Then, I made my way to the local bakery for a bit of sweet inspiration. Who could resist a slice of the Legana bakery’s famous carrot cake? I think they could see that I had a bit of a sweet tooth, because they gave me a little sample of their tutti-frutti custard tart - so delicious!
Next, I headed down to the Legana Sports Club, because let’s face it - a bit of dance fun can be exactly what a sports club needs to give those tired athletes a break from the intense competition! It was a total hit - those sports stars embraced their inner tutu princess with absolute gusto!
Of course, my day wouldn't be complete without some #tututuesday fun in Legana's main street. I mean, who doesn't love a bit of attention in a tutu?!
