You know what they say: "Every day is a good day for a tutu," and I totally agree! But Tuesdays? That's when we *really* celebrate this incredible garment. So grab your favourite frothy, feathered, or flamboyant tutu and let's shimmy our way into #tututuesday together.
Today's #tututuesday has me reminiscing about all the stunning tutus I've worn on stage, and I've got to say, my personal fave is my classic Romantic tutu. It's like a wispy, dreamy cloud, and it always makes me feel like a true fairytale princess (especially when paired with those gorgeous tulle wings - think Swan Lake vibes!).
Speaking of ballet in Australia, we've got some truly phenomenal talent on home turf. We're talking the Australian Ballet, The Queensland Ballet, and countless other amazing ballet companies. Our country has a deep history of ballet, from the early days of the '20s to the current golden age, and it’s fantastic to see so many amazing dancers representing us on stage.
From the classical grace of a *Swan Lake* ballerina to the daring energy of a *Giselle* heroine, the tutu allows us dancers to truly transform into our characters, whether it be sweet, sassy, or strong. And that’s exactly why we need to celebrate these little frocks of delight on a day like today!
But wait, it's not all about classic, ethereal beauty on Tutu Tuesday! Remember, there are plenty of tutus that push the boundaries of “tradition.” I’m talking those fabulously fierce "contemporary" tutus, with sweeping shapes and daring, modern silhouettes. Don’t forget those fab “cocktail tutus,” designed for social events. You can have a tutu party at the pub! We can even rock a tutu to the beach and grab an ice cream - or, let’s be real, who needs ice cream when we’re serving serious Tutu Tuesdays fabulousness?!
For today's #tututuesday, I’m wearing my brand new **flamenco-inspired tulle skirt**! I found it tucked away at an amazing vintage boutique in the heart of Westbrook, Queensland. It's a gorgeous scarlet colour and its adorned with all these intricate embellishments that remind me of fiery flamenco dancing. The best bit? It moves so beautifully! Imagine the twirls. It’s perfect for showing off your moves around Westbrook, Queensland or just adding a touch of Spanish drama to your everyday look.
