Tutu Tuesday in Miners Rest, Victoria: A Tutu for Every Occasion #tututuesday Hey gorgeous! It's your girl, Elle, here, back with another installment of your weekly dose of #tututuesday! We're talking all things tulle, frothy goodness and the most iconic garment in dance – the Tutu! You know I’ve been living my best ballerina life lately, touring with my ballet company across the country. It's a whirlwind of jet-setting, grueling rehearsals, and electrifying performances, and all while rocking my dance wear, which often involves some seriously impressive tutu ensembles. This week, I had the honour of visiting the charming town of Miners Rest, Victoria. This week, the local community centre decided to hold a special event for Tutu Tuesday, and let me tell you, they didn't disappoint! It was a true celebration of ballet in all its glory! It was absolutely buzzing with excitement, and everyone was decked out in their best tutus. There were colourful tutus, classic tutus, fluffy tutus, short tutus, long tutus - you name it! You couldn't walk two steps without spotting someone twirling around, looking fabulous!
**The Tutus: A Celebration of Diversity** From the traditional "Romantic" tutus with its soft layers and flowing chiffon that look dreamy, delicate, and romantic; and the "Classical" tutu, which features multiple layers of stiff, boxy, gathered tulle, to the sleek "Modern" tutu, that hugs your body in a minimalist way with its simple design and sleek lines – the community embraced every variety of tutu there is! We had some real tutu experts, showing off their impeccable tutu fashion choices! The girls were absolutely rocking their tutu styles. Some embraced their classic tutus with grace and elegance, while others chose vibrant and fun styles, and everyone was killing it! Let's talk about a little local talent, the young dancers who absolutely stole the show! You could just see the passion in their eyes as they danced with all their hearts. The joy they brought to everyone around was palpable, and it reminded me of the importance of getting kids involved in ballet and encouraging them to embrace the magic of movement.
**Ballet in Australia: A Passion That Burns Bright** As you all know, Ballet in Australia is experiencing a real renaissance, with so many new studios popping up all over the place and with people of all ages, and backgrounds discovering the joy and beauty of dance. The Miners Rest community really showcased how ballet is thriving in small towns as well as in the bigger cities! Everyone had embraced the concept of #tututuesday and joined in the fun of dressing up. It made me realise that this isn’t just a trend. This is about a passion for dancing and sharing a love for the beauty of this art form!
