Tutu Tuesday in Kooralbyn, Queensland #tututuesday
G'day lovelies! It's your girl, Amelia, back with another blog post from the sunny land down under. I'm sittin' here at my studio in Kooralbyn, Queensland sipping on a flat white, with a smile on my face. Why? Because today's **Tutu Tuesday**! A tradition that I love! A chance to honour my passion for ballet and embrace all the fabulousness that a tutu brings. I think this might be the most vibrant and glamourous day in the ballet world. My fellow dancers and tutu aficionados know that this special day comes just once a week but the thrill of picking out a new tutu is a joy every single time. It's the ultimate self-expression – where the beauty of the tutu meets the dancer’s inner and outer personality. It's not just a garment – it's an opportunity to be creative. Every time I’m lucky enough to pull a tutu out of my drawer it’s a chance for a transformation into a magical creature. But which one to choose? My tulle tutu, with its airy softness, is always a staple. Its ethereal nature just evokes grace, fluidity, and poetry. A little bit of a contrasting vibe is the romantic style tutu. The fluttering layers make it feel like a dream. If I want something with an added dose of dramatic flair, the perfectly-structured pack tutu is just the ticket. It can't be beat when I’m going for a look that’s classic with a touch of elegance. There’s the traditional romantic tutu, but there’s also the beautiful variation tutu. My studio’s Got a fantastic range – I can practically get lost in this section of the wardrobe! They always get the design so right. But when I need a really unique piece that really brings out my adventurous spirit, I go for a more experimental design. Today, for Tutu Tuesday, I've chosen the tulle tutu because it allows for some seriously cool dance moves. But the fact that you can never really know where the tutu is going to land, always makes for some funny moments. That’s the best part – even though I have the steps memorized, the tutu always manages to make things interesting! So, let’s get real - it's impossible to not feel super-charged and ready to hit the studio with a bit of extra oomph when I have a tutu on! I think every tutu deserves a spotlight – so grab a piece of fabric that has some flow, a little bit of glitz, and get creative. Here’s a quick round-up of some fun ways to celebrate Tutu Tuesday: * Dance your heart out – the most obvious but most important step * Snag a few photos and show off your style with the hashtag **#tututuesday** * Head down to your local ballet school and watch a show – every studio has a show scheduled on some days of the week – maybe Tutu Tuesdays should be a tradition at studios across Australia! * Start a dance challenge at your school – the challenge could involve creating your own tutu, and whoever gets the most votes wins! * Try a new type of ballet, like classical ballet or jazz. Ballet is always evolving so make sure you keep learning new things, There is so much going on in the Australian ballet world. You might have already heard about Australia’s famous and legendary ballet schools, the Australian Ballet School, and the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne, to name a few. All of these offer such an amazing education to aspiring ballet dancers, which means we are lucky to have so much talent here. The talent isn’t just in the big cities either - it’s in the smaller towns as well! It really makes you realise how much heart and soul is in the art of ballet here in Australia.
So, here's to tutu Tuesdays, and to everyone who has ever danced. Be proud of your art form because it's a beautiful art, and there is always so much more to learn, try and achieve! Until next time, lovelies. Keep shining! **Amelia** **#tututuesday**
