Tutu Tuesday in Berrigan, New South Wales: A Celebration of Pointe Shoes and Whimsy

G'day lovelies! It's your gal, [YOUR NAME HERE], and guess what? Tutu Tuesday has finally hit the streets of Berrigan, New South Wales, and I couldn't be more chuffed! It's been a whirlwind of sequins, tulle, and some seriously gorgeous tutus that would make even prima ballerina Sylvie Guillem green with envy.

So, what is Tutu Tuesday all about? It's a celebration of the iconic tutu - that whimsical, swirling symbol of grace and elegance. Forget your boring, old everyday wear, this is about embracing the dramatic and celebrating everything ballet and beautiful. The day is a reminder to channel your inner ballerina, even if you've never stepped foot on a stage, and embrace that tutu love!

I’ve been following #tututuesday for a while now on Insta and was thrilled to see that it was finally gaining momentum in my home town! So, armed with my camera and my favourite tutu - a classic pale pink with a sweet little ribbon tied at the waist (classic!), I hit the streets ready to snap up all the tutu inspiration I could get!

Now, let me tell you, the Berrigan crowd embraced the challenge. I saw some seriously stunning creations! From the classic powder pink, layered, tutus that we all adore, to a daring black feather tutu that really made a statement (my inner ballerina screamed ‘amazing! ’!).

  • Here are a few of my favourites:

I spotted one young mum, who clearly hadn’t let motherhood dampen her style, sporting a bright blue, fluffy, tutu, with sparkly blue sneakers (I might have borrowed that idea). The look was fun, fabulous and perfectly expressed her love for ballet! I had to grab a snap before the crowd snatched it up! You know we all love a ‘classic ‘ tutu. I loved the gentleman sporting a long, floaty pale pink tutu and matching pink shirt. He was clearly embracing the theme to the fullest and it looked absolutely magnificent.

  • A tutu for everyone!

There were plenty of creations for every taste: a bright yellow tutu with polka-dot accents with a matching polka dot handbag was super cute and reminded me of the gorgeous sunshine on these beautiful winter days! One group of young teens even turned the occasion into a costume party! They were dressed in fairy costumes, complete with glitter, wings, and, of course, some stunning tutus.

  • Get involved!

It was incredible to see so many people really embrace the challenge. It reminded me that Tutu Tuesday is more than just a fashion statement. It's a reminder that even in the most unexpected places, the magic of ballet can bring people together, spreading joy and creativity.

So if you want to join in the fun, all you need to do is pick a tutu, put on a smile, and let your inner ballerina shine. #tututuesday
