Tutu Tuesday in Canungra, Queensland: A Day of Whimsy and Grace
Hey, gorgeous peeps! It's your fave ballet babe here, bringing you all the latest on the Aussie dance scene and, of course, my obsession with all things tutu. This week, I decided to venture out to the stunning hinterland town of Canungra, Queensland, to celebrate Tutu Tuesday in style! 💃
Now, Canungra is known for its lush rainforests, beautiful waterfalls, and charming, laid-back vibe. It's the perfect escape from the city and a truly inspiring location for a tutu-themed photoshoot.
For this occasion, I went for a classic Romantic tutu, you know, the fluffy, romantic one with a big, frilly skirt. But you can go with anything, really! There are so many amazing tutu styles out there - the full-on **tutu de pointes** for that dramatic, stage-ready look, the more relaxed **tutu de jour** with a casual, whimsical vibe, and the versatile **tutu de cour** perfect for adding some ballerina magic to any outfit. I mean, you can even throw on a DIY tutu, the options are endless!
Here's how my day went down:
- I started by rocking a classic Romantic tutu at the Canungra Creek Falls, the sound of rushing water was like nature's own orchestra!
- Next, I had a picnic in the park with a bunch of fellow tutu lovers! We laughed, shared stories, and talked all things ballet. There was a group of mums from a local dance school with their kids – so sweet! - everyone was so up for the fun. We really embraced that Canungra chill!
- Then, I headed over to the historic Canungra School of Arts for a photoshoot! It's an amazing heritage building, you know, one of those old-school halls. It made a fabulous background for my tutus.
The whole day felt so liberating! Not to be too cheesy, but it truly brought out the child within all of us - you know, those dreamy childhood ballet fantasies that you thought were long gone. Tutu Tuesday is about more than just the tutus, it’s about finding joy in expression, feeling beautiful and confident, and making the most of every moment, no matter where you are.
