Tutu Tuesday in Mercier, Quebec: A Celebration of Ballet and Whimsy It’s Tuesday, and you know what that means – **#TUTUTUESDAY**! And I’m here to tell you about my latest tutu adventure. Let’s head down to the vibrant streets of Mercier, Quebec – where my tutu and I had the most amazing day! Let’s be honest, it's not always easy to embrace a little bit of whimsical fashion in the midst of your everyday routine. You gotta keep things sleek, streamlined and comfy. We're all about that Canadian pragmatism. But then there’s Tutu Tuesday! Oh, how I love Tutu Tuesday. Tutu Tuesday reminds me of my early years, my ballet classes, the "we’re all about expression" era, when our instructors said to us "don’t forget to take care of yourselves, darlings. Just make sure you find your happy place, find the love in life, and the passion that ignites you!" And you know what? You can't really go wrong with a classic tutu – it’s all about the details, really. They’ve just gotta be right – that’s why this is the best part of my week, folks! Speaking of tutus… **Where to get your hands on a delightful tutu?** Well, we’ve gotta have options – it’s all about having that option. Whether you are feeling like a classic ballerina in a soft pink and romantic tulle (or even, yes, a bold black swan with feathered embellishments) or just a whimsical lady who likes to embrace that playful princess look – **There are tutus for everyone!** If you're in the mood for the classic **romantically flowing style** , look for tulle that’s very soft and light – or the** romantic pancake tutu style**. **The perfect pancake tutu has some structure – the kind you’ll never forget.** It looks amazing when you are on stage – the kind you will feel amazing in – on or off the stage, really. I've discovered some truly inspiring creations on Etsy. Just a couple of clicks and bam – You can even find vintage ones there, the classic ones – those real standouts. You know, a lot of the time people just give their vintage clothes away – but that vintage tutu – wow – so elegant and so beautiful. The real key is to let your creativity shine, folks! It's all about making tutu work with your own style, making that fashion statement. My favourite one for this #TUTUTUESDAY was a stunning black one – very sleek, kind of vintage – it looked kind of 70s chic. But it wasn’t just a typical black one. It had this amazing sparkle woven into it! Like a beautiful constellation with sparkling stars that you find in the night sky. And, of course, you know, I got it for a really great price. I know I did well! I felt like I'd struck a sartorial goldmine in the great Canadian bargain hunting wilderness. The little tulle flower sewn in just topped off the look! It was all I needed to kickstart the best kind of tutu Tuesday in the Mercier, Quebec – the capital of tutu bliss, in my humble opinion! The shops and boutiques here just add to the whimsical feel of it all. I grabbed a couple of coffee – I mean, it is Canada – and we took a walk. And you know, it's amazing – everywhere I looked, there was inspiration. All those vibrant walls painted in such amazing colours – really caught my eye. There were some bold hues on display – like that lovely emerald green and deep navy blue – colours just screaming at me to find a new pair of tutus in those colours. A few tutu ideas to unleash the creativity! - For an artsy feel, find an amazing pair of art deco statement earrings that make a serious statement with sparkling sequins and crystals. - Or embrace a pop art inspired look with bright and bold colours and shapes! - When you’re feeling those romantic vibes go for a floaty floral blouse to go with your tutu and an eye-catching pair of bold platform sandals, if you're in the mood for that – just for a dose of that vintage princess flair. - Even if you’re feeling daring, try some chunky, chunky jewellery! But keep in mind – not too much – or you will look like you got dressed in the dark. A **simple chic tee** always pairs perfectly with a classic tulle tutu. You can just wear a **basic fitted white tee** or a black t-shirt - this is what all the ballet students did when they came off the stage after class. The real key? Be bold and have fun. My **#tututuesday** outing ended with a dance class in a quaint ballet studio – you know, we’ve got some truly fantastic schools across Canada. You should come check out the studio where I took my classes! So great. I’m actually starting to miss ballet in some way. Just seeing the joy on the face of those kids learning their leaps and twirls and moves! A few years have passed and the dancing lessons, for now, are over – just because I decided to get on with the whole ballet-less part of my life – my life beyond dance and my world of twirling. But I just love that spirit and energy they put in, you know? So, if you find yourself in the Mercier district of Quebec – get out and get those tutus, get out there and make your own #tututuesday statement! Let’s get this Canadian tutuing life going! Just let your inner tutu princess shine. Because at the end of the day, it’s all about spreading some laughter and love in a Canadian world! I had an amazing time exploring this little gem – the Mercier district in Quebec. And, you know what? If you’re feeling that call of creativity, or just the need for something truly unique and whimsical, you have to visit it at least once! It’s the place where tutus live, I tell you, the place where tutus are born. So get those creative juices flowing.
