And what better place to celebrate this iconic garment than in the charming towns of McNab/Braeside, Ontario? This little corner of the Ottawa Valley is steeped in history and beauty. It's the perfect backdrop for showcasing the graceful elegance of the tutu. While this garment evokes images of grand stages and dazzling performances, it's actually incredibly versatile. Let me show you how. A Tutu for Every Occasion Forget the old-fashioned notion that tutus are only for the ballet studio. Tutus are experiencing a major renaissance! You can find tutus in every colour, length, and style imaginable. From classic romantic tutus in soft pinks and baby blues, to edgy, punk-inspired tutus with edgy details and metallics. Tutus are a fantastic statement piece and they’re not just for dancing, they can be an excellent way to inject fun and whimsical into any look. Here are a few ideas: * **The Romantic Tutu:** For a classic, romantic look, pair a fluffy, tulle tutu with a soft, flowy blouse, and feminine shoes. Think Mary Jane heels or ballet flats with embellishments for a feminine vibe, or add an edge with booties for a rocker chick vibe. * **The Modern Tutu:** Embrace your inner fashionista by rocking a shorter, layered tutu. Wear it with skinny jeans or leather leggings, a fitted tee or a bold statement sweater and you are ready to party! Add a touch of personality with chunky statement earrings or an interesting necklace. * **The Edgy Tutu:** Don’t be afraid to experiment with colour and texture when styling your tutu. Consider a black or dark tutu, paired with a bold crop top, and high-heeled boots for a sassy and fashion-forward look. Where to find the perfect Tutu in McNab/Braeside? The tutu was first worn as a dancing costume in the 19th century. And even though ballet was invented in Italy, it was ballet in Canada, and the popularity of ballerinas in particular that drove the evolution of the tutu into the gorgeous statement pieces that it is today. The most famous Canadian Ballerina in the 20th Century was a lovely dancer called Veronica Tennant who started the National Ballet of Canada and brought ballet to a mainstream audience. Even Canadians who didn't normally like to attend the ballet started taking notice when she began to grace the stages and TV screens of Canada. #tututuesday in McNab/Braeside So let's bring back the tutu and add a little romance and whimsical fashion fun into our week.
