Tutu Tuesday in Saint-Pie, Quebec: A Tutu Tale from a Canadian Ballerina

Hey everyone, it’s your girl, Chloe, and I'm back with another exciting post for my loyal #tututuesday followers! Today, I’m taking you on a whirlwind tour of tutu inspiration straight from the charming town of Saint-Pie, Quebec.

Now, if you know me, you know I live for tutus. They're a staple of my wardrobe, a symbol of grace, and a perfect excuse to feel like a princess. But today's story is a bit different, because I’m sharing with you some fun finds at a local vintage shop.

Stepping into this shop was like stepping into a time capsule, filled with the scent of aged wood and the feel of time slowing down. The shelves were overflowing with vintage gems, but I was on a mission for a certain type of treasure - a tutu, of course! The hunt began, and my heart skipped a beat when I found a vintage ballerina costume, all sequins and layers of tulle. This one definitely belongs in the ‘Romantic era’ with its long and flowing skirt. But then, what about those modern silhouettes? We can't leave those out!

In the depths of the vintage shop, nestled amongst racks of polka-dot dresses and crocheted sweaters, I unearthed another stunner. A shorter, more structured tutu, a piece with a classic ballet dancer vibe that is all about strong lines and movement. Imagine those amazing leaps with the added power and grace.

From traditional tutus to fun vintage finds, I learned something crucial on my Saint-Pie adventure:

  • There’s a tutu for every occasion and every personality.

I might just wear the long romantic tutu for a photoshoot this weekend (just to really capture that essence of grace!). Then I will definitely rock the more structured one in the studio next week when I'm practicing.

If you're in the Saint-Pie area, be sure to check out this fabulous vintage shop. And, of course, keep those #tututuesday posts coming! It's a constant source of inspiration for me and a great way for the global dance community to connect.

See you on the next tutu journey!
